Re: What's been the constant throughout our lowly Championship seasons ? I have been saying this for yonks. You won't agree but what I'd give for a return to a Dennis style ownership structure.
Re: What's been the constant throughout our lowly Championship seasons ? Oh I'd have that type of structure back this afternoon - just not with John Dennis anywhere near. *buys an extra Euromillions lucky dip
Re: What's been the constant throughout our lowly Championship seasons ? I'd have Dennis back in a flash. Miles better than owt we've had since. Got his faults for sure but had more footballing knowledge than the present lot put togther and then some. At least he talked to opposition officials and directors.
Re: What's been the constant throughout our lowly Championship seasons ? I can't forgive him for the admin scenario - I know there were external factors, but in my opinion the whole thing could have been managed much better. A former shareholder with much more business savvy and football knowledge than me could have written a book about it. But what's done is done.
Re: What's been the constant throughout our lowly Championship seasons ? It is that. I bet there would be a good chapter on what could have saved us from admin.
Re: Let's face, if they gave him lorry load of money.... If I looked at his record, I would notice Vaz Te, Butterfield, Drinkwater have all played for him recently and moved on to better things. I'd also note that former players include Grant Holt, Rickie Lambert, Adam Le Fondre and many others. If he promised me that I had the opportunity to play (when I've previously been on the bench watching the contract and value run down) - I think he'd have more than enough pull to persuade me. However, if another club offers me £5,000 a week and he offers me £2,000 a week I might have to think about what I want and how long the contract is.
Re: I don't think Keith Hill will be here much longer, mate good call with ronnie, hes a good guy and him and bunny burton know their stuff
Re: Let's face, if they gave him lorry load of money.... Glenn Murray, Will Buckley too. Bang on, though.
Re: Let's face, if they gave him lorry load of money.... Grant Holt and Ricky Lambert never played under Hill at Rochdale, they were developed by Steve Parkin.
if he was sacked i would give ronnie and mark burton the chance think it could be a good partnership done well with the academy
Went to Broadway school wy bunny, laiked footy with a tennis ball with and against him. He was a great player who had his dream cut short after a couple of games for the reds with a career ending injury. If he got it id wish him all the best, great lad!
ive not forgiven bunny at all we played kingston in the barnsley schools cup semi final i was in goal we got a well earned draw at kingston and lost in the replay 2-1 bunny scored the winner with 1 minute to go. i had a fantastic game and he scored a well taken goal i played at darton high school.
I doubt Branson would want the job full time, managers usually get sacked after year or two, Academy Manager is a job with a longer-term future (that's unless the finances really are ******).
Fair enough, mate I knew I should've gone to you in the first place. You've got your finger on the pulse with the club, on the odd occasion when you're NOT partying in Las Vegas!!
