RE: who cares

lets just get behind them for achange .
all you seem to get on here is doom and gloom .
chill out relax they have got us this far and i am sure they know what their doing .
i trust them to run the club more than i would most of the moaners on here if u lot were in charge we would be millions in debt with a full stadium every week.
but then it all goes pear shape then what would you do.
no buisness can just gamble and spend money for no gaurenteed sucess.i dont seem to remember all this pressure on the players until we went to the prem we were only getting 7k at the start of the season.
our time in the prem seems to have clouded all your judgement we are a small club but we should follow them regardless just like we did before 97 stop moaning show some pride in your club and get behind them.
u reds.
sorry about the spelling and punctuation im busy.

Maybe if we signed a player like Gibbs you'll be happy

btw

in the early eighties we had a comparable average attendance to pigs, chelsea, newcastle etc at around 18k. and often this was around 12-13k even before/after the 80/81/82/ seasons.

Low attendances really only followed on from the miners strike and then as a result of the Taylor report which saw everyone forced to sit at a higher price - many stayed away. No extension of time for BFC unlike fulham, cardiff etc.

And why is it perceived by the "happy clappers" that its all or nowt ie if we sign a few players it automically is assumed we are talking about big names / big money...there are players available for reasonable wages.

No business will develop / survive without investment either. Failure this season is not an option financially. We must bring in the players to ensure survival. Maybe GS et al know this but are taking the spendthrift tactic- lets see how we go in the first quarter before investing.

In my opinion and many others that is a dangerous option. Losing is a difficult habit to break

I admit it's hard to disagree with that prediction at this moment in time. I can understand GS's reluctance to put the club's future at risk but no matter what anyone on this board says (rose tinted specs or not) we are just NOT equipped to compete in this league at all. We have no cover at centre half whatsoever, midfield is weak and the strikeforce ??? is non-existent. I suspect we are pinning our hopes on a couple of loan signings from Prem clubs during late August.
Forget the likes of Rossi cos' that aint gonna happen, we are just going to have to hope that Ritchie can pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat otherwise I seriously think that we are doomed. But to be honest at this time last season I never expected what was to happen so you never know !!
The worst thing about this summer for me was the Chron article a couple of weeks after Cardiff with the Pat Cryne interview regarding "box office " signings. That really fuelled everbody's expectations only for them to be cruelly dashed.
For what it's worth my opinion is that our neighbours down the road could be the answer. Shipperley is the experienced striker we crave, Morgan the centre-half (on loan or permanent) and the lad Quinn (who was at Rov'rum) could be a real asset on a season long loan.

True we need a couple of signings to strengthen the squad, but I think we will have a competitive team next season. A couple of decent loan signings and we will be fine.

You really are a pessimistic character. We have just been promoted, enjoy it...
