Not you as well Big Lil! Your posts are normally the calm amongst the extreme tempest of angst on this BBS. Now I'm worried. On another note: Jeez, the BBS is depressing these days, but as I live so far away, it is my daily lifeline back to the club.
What folk need to realise, is that being quiet about stuff sometimes is not negative. Some of the best business in football is done under the radar. No matter what, the board will know what’s required and I trust they are making plans accordingly. I think we should judge everything at the end of January and then the end of the season. If we stay up, they’ve done well and achieved this season’s goal.
I don't disagree with the notion about keeping things under your hat. But it doesn't hold that the CEO and board should be silent in relation to "the best ever transfer window", the disgusting sacking of a very decent man, the reasoning for that decision and the ambitions going forward. It was compounded by the non statement tucked away on twitter by the CEO/gopher/whatever he is and since then some of their past comments and circumstances have been found to seem a smidge hole laden. I can see why they may wish to remain quiet. But the reasons are for their own personal benefit, and not the benefit of the fans. As for them knowing what is required in January... forgive me for being highly sceptical. History so far shows them to be either incompetent or not wholly accurate in their commentary of matters.
Indeed my friend. And the serious point is that those, rational, reasonable ‘moderate’ supporters are now simply judging the Board on the evidence they have seen over nearly two years, and their ‘philosophy’ on how the Club is to be run in the future. And it does not tell a good story.
