Massive Leeds contingent in Wakey. A few reds but a don't really get this notion that there's loads of football fans in Wakey without a team to support. It's just a myth. They either just watch rugby league or they already support Leeds, Man Utd or us, in that order

I agree there aint loads of clubless football fans in Wakey but maybe we need to reverse the trend because am sure we had a following from Wakey area in days gone by. Got to be plenty of Barnsley born and bred there shurley.

Perhaps am living int past and we should just settle for what we have.

Think a Facebook one would be better, they have about 19,000 "likes" on there, quite a few organisations have done Facebook Q&A's.

The biggest question surely has to be why aren't we re-investing money into the 1st team squad - as the old saying goes 'Build it and they will come'. ALl this messing around trying to reach out to the town is a load of rubbish, people want value for money, we have the correct prices but seeing us in a relegation scrap every season losing games left right and centre is hardly inspiring people to spend their money.

A question you could put to the club at one of these Q&A sessions!

Did Goldthorpe use to have a regular supporters bus to matches, bumped into someone at MK Dons who said he had travelled with a bus load from Goldthorpe.

Pretty sure The Plough in West Melton was featured on Sky Sports when we played Chelsea or Liverpool.

Thats why I think the club should be targeting the kids at schools, get them interested at a young age before they become polluted by the Leeds thing and sky tv turns them to a premier league team.

It is right what you say about Wakey. I was one of very few Reds at Crofton High, the majority reckoned to be Leeds fans but only a very small number actually went to games. Good target areas would be places this side of Wakey - Crofton, Walton, Sandal, Crigglestone, Kettlethorpe etc. I'd love to see Wakefield turn Red (I can dream!)

Think more to the point people don't really go to the pub like they used to, I can see whoever goes from the club turning up to an empty boozer in some cases
