Earlier in the season I felt like things could and would get better.
When Flticroft was Mellon led the team I thought things weren't going for us and we'd get better.

Under Wilson I've been down, down and more down. He's not good enough is he.
Theres a reason he wasn't wanted at this level by every club bar Barnsley.
I bet there laughing their socks off in S2

The internet is a wonderful development in modern life. Unfortunately at times like this the opinions of some can really escalate much quicker than they ever would 20 years + ago. I hope that Danny is given chance to bring us back up because unfortunately the younger generation will only know Danny for this season. He is a hero in my eyes and always will be. Full stop. Yes, his signings haven't worked. Yes there was an element of desperation with certain signings. Davey did similar with Stan and Rajci. That worked. You roll the dice, sometimes you get a 6, but Danny has rolled a 1. He was dealt a **** hand, tried something to freshen things up. It hasn't worked. Don't crucify him for it. Judge him in a couple of years, unless due to supporter pressure he doesn't get that opportunity.

Well I'm basing it on the fact that the last 3 managers (plus Micky Mellon) haven't thought they were good enough and won't let them anywhere near the first team. Given that these are qualified professionals who have played the game, got their coaching badges I'm sort of thinking they know what they are talking about. Or at least, they know a damn site more than you do.

No. Not if they arent good enough (Which it seems they aren't!)

Hasn't it occurred to you that the players you mention are simply better players?

And? This proves that they are desperate to try something different not that the players are good enough or better than we have. I go back to the professional coaches that work with these players day in and day out who think they aren't good enough.

wise words. for me, it's really important that people do acknowledge he has gambled, and the signings haven't paid off. i was also there the first time round, so i get the adulation. but in my opinion, there are way too many people blindly defending him. i want to see him try to rebuild next season, but i'm not going to sit here pointing the finger everywhere else.

He's not good enough?? You tell me mate what's going to happen if we get shut of DW? Who will come in... Jesus and the boys with £20m!??

We are in a mess because of the Rochdale 2 - if DW had spent millions in Jan we could have complained - but its always a gamble bringing new players in, especially loan signings. (This present situation has been on the cards since we got promoted back to the Championship, and especially over the last few seasons).

We will be in a bigger mess next season if DW has gone. And they were not laughing their socks off at Sheff Utd when they sacked DW last season - looked what the talented Chris Morgan did in his place...

You mean when he led them to an automatic promotion spot?

So they sacked him because they were in an automatic promotion spot.

That makes a lot of sense

Danny had it tough today. He started with three players with little recent match practice in Ramage, McClaughlin and Pederson. It was good to see no Ping Pong, but then he brought on Mellis instead of Lawrence and COG for a centre forward rarely saw the penalty box for being out of position out wide. I thought he might have started with McClaughlin RB and Hunt further up instead of the other way around.

So if Flitcroft was doing something right why did he end up going to a club at the arse end of League 2 when we sacked him? Surely a guy who was only bottom of the Championship due to bad luck would have been wanted higher up the pyramid?

FWIW I was happy to have DW back. I genuinely thought he'd make a difference. I was wrong. However I still think we were right to get rid of both Hill and Flitcroft. The only problem is that we need stability, we cannot keep changing manager, so do we keep DW? Or do we take someone else on in the summer and back him? I don't know.

The players aren't blameless, far from it. They earn a decent wage for their profession and certainly out earn the majority of us sat in the stand supporting them. Flitcroft's signings weren't up to it and the retained players weren't performing in the same way they did toward the end of last season. Wilson's signings have disappointed too - Woods, Lawrence, the lot of them. My mate is an Arsenal season ticket holder and he laughed when we signed Frimpong. He also said he wasn't the kind of player that would be up for a fight at the wrong end of the table. Pretty sure he's watched him more times than any of us too, so that MUST make his opinion FACT by certain people's rules.

TBH the lack of endeavour and commitment shown this season - on and off the pitch - has disgusted me at times and I'm not too bothered that next season will be the first in 25+ years where I don't attend the majority of home games or have a season ticket.

There's no one person or group to blame for the **** currently happening at Oakwell. Hill, Flitcroft, Mellon, Wilson, Mansford, Rowing, Cryne and the players all need to take a long hard look at themselves and their part it in.

Think I might sign off now. Have a couple of drinks and try to forget this afternoon. In fact, forget most of this season.

That's because you are incapable of rational or logical argument. You just think you know it all and that you are always right.

You really don't make any sense (quite literally at the end of the sentence). They were in the automatic promotion places. Look what happened to them after he left.

It's very frustrating this sort of thread though isn't it? We were bottom of the league when Danny came and almost relegated. We have got marginally better. You can't sort out 3 years of under investment and the idiotic signings of the Rochdale 2 in five minutes can you?

Today we put in the effort but were woefully short on quality.

Wilson is a decent manager he probably needs more than 3 months to sort out years of bad signings and bad management decisions.

It's symptomatic of the modern Sky TV Fan all this blame blame blame game. Also it's very dull.
