    Discotyke can i just say

Just because AR never shouted things from the roof tops does not mean he lacked ambition or could not sell the club to players. He was a down to earth bloke who was realistic and honest, maybe this was his downfall, however you are comparing him to a manager who has been given time to turn the club he supports around and has only recentley due to good work by all at SUFC been given funds where he can compete for players who then may come for his ambition.

However at our level where we cannot pay big wages, players are more likely to move where they can earn the most simple as that and only a handful would move for ambition of a club/manager as the majority of players today put money first football second!

If you can offer the same as other clubs then ambition will come into the sceniro however we do not know what is offered to players and therefore we can only make assumptions, however i do know Shuker wanted to stay on less money than he is getting at his current club and the reason he wanted to stay was AR!

RE: When do you think we are getting to the Premier League.

I couldn't see it at the start of the 1996-97 season!

On first view (at the match) i have to admit, i called Colgan out for the goals leaked. The first one, on second viewing (TV) was a save even an amateur could have dealt with, we're talking body behind the ball, and holding on here. Even a parry of this shot would have been borderline shocking.

The second one, on first viewing, i again jumped at Colgans throat. But after seeing it on the TV, it would have taken a special special save to keep that one out, his view was obscured by the defenders, the ball went underneath the defenders and low into the corner. A very tough shot to save in my experience as a goalkeeper (18 years).

I must admit however, Lucas would be my choice for the No1 jersey. Time will tell on whether Davey chooses to stick him between the pegs.

    Ever yours,

    RE: Leon Constantine! Zakuani!

If we'd have signed those 2, we probably wouldnt have got Ferenczi or Nyatanga.

    I know which 2 i prefer.

I'm well aware of that. Ferenczi and Nyatanga both signed

just at the end of the month long transfer window, how far down the list of targets were they? and how many did we miss out on before we targetted them? I think we've been very lucky with those two.
