I personally have no problem with us signing a player with history, so long as that is what it is...history. When Hill was looking at Kelvin Etuhu I also thought the same. I've got some Geordie mates, and by all accounts they've said on the pitch he's got bags of potential. He works his socks off, he's a nuisance, he's got ability and he can score goals. If Hill can help him mature as a footballer and person (something he regularly intimates) then hopefully we might have a chance of benefit from the move. Hill has said on numerous occassions that the player must fit a "DNA". Obviously he is confident that, despite his indiscretions, he has that DNA that can make him a success at Barnsley. I think that due to the availability of a loan system, all of the young forwards who are capable of scoring goals are snapped up by PL clubs and left to rot in the reserves or loaned out to their "mates". Therefore, we can't expect to do anything better than try to find a rough diamond and polish it into something worthwhile. Unfortunately, in order to do that we might have to polish a few turds along the way. Hopefully Nile Ranger is a diamond and there'll be a mutual benefit from his loan move.
Depends how far back you go for that history. He's been in about five different incidents in 2011 alone.
That's exactly my point though. As long as it is in the past I don't mind, because it hopefully shouldn't affect our club. He isn't the first and won't be last 20-something lad who gets himself in trouble. Especially a 20-something lad with bags of money and nothing to spend it on. I'll judge him on the here and now.
Could be a decent signing. Not too bothered about his indiscretions. Some young lads like a drink and a fight, big deal. Chance for him to prove himself, hope he takes it.
Wunt bother me if he walked on to the pitch and showed his............. ............a.rse................and then spewed last neets beer all over the nearest lines man .............as long as by the end of the game he had scored a hat trick
Keith Hill seems to have a fair record with good potential young players, who are at risk of going off the rails like Ranger. Didn't he do some work with Utuhu at Manchester City. If Hill likes the challenge of shaping 'raw' talent, young Ranger could do well for us. If he comes in with a 'hung dog' look about him, as if he has been sent to Barnsley as a punsihment, we might not see the best of him. I would reckon that Hill got him at low cost, given the circumstances and, if he can shape him and keep him on track, we will have a star man. Here's hoping!!
Re: Wunt bother me if he walked on to the pitch and showed his............. That is not vet likely at all Nudger!!! He has only scored 2 goals in 49 games, yet you want him, but dont want a player that has scored 3 goals this season!!!!!!!!! Sorry if you include cup matches its 3 goals in 58 games. Fecking fantastic strike rate that is!!!! ODEJAYI STYLEEEEE!!!
Re: Wunt bother me if he walked on to the pitch and showed his............. Seen him a few times on sky and he's always looked very good. Thought he looked quite good when he came on at oakwell for newcastle. When i've seen him on sky he's always looked the team player and maybe is goal ratio isn't the best but thats a very simplistic way to look at it. It's all about the team (Barnsley, newcastle ect). It's doesn't say ranger 3 -1 crouch for example it says newcastle 3-1 stoke.
Re: Wunt bother me if he walked on to the pitch and showed his............. I see you Hempsy stirring that s hit stirring that s hit.
Re: Wunt bother me if he walked on to the pitch and showed his............. Stirring what? People MAY be concerned about goals ration and people may not have seen him play in anyway. So i thought i would say what i think about him. Sorry for thinking we could have a adult convo on here about football. FFS
Re: Wunt bother me if he walked on to the pitch and showed his............. but do you want an adult conversation or are you just fishing, how is one suppose to know when you say it is so easy to hook people. Carn`t have it both roads Sonny Jim.
Re: Wunt bother me if he walked on to the pitch and showed his............. Agreed. Short sighted/daft to even look at his first team scoring record, especially considering majority are off the bench and he's 20 year old.
Re: Wunt bother me if he walked on to the pitch and showed his............. I like football so i take it quite seriously. The reason i got i bit frustrated last week was because someone was making football look a joke. Anyway let last weeks post go now, oakwell tomorrow and i can't wait. Lets hope he's a good loan ranger and maybe he can score or assist.
Re: Wunt bother me if he walked on to the pitch and showed his............. I would like to know who you are referring to.
Re: Wunt bother me if he walked on to the pitch and showed his............. Ok I admit I was wrong and he is ****ing brilliant, he has a fantastic record in theis division and the Prem, he has been on Sky so that must make him superb. Sorry again I am a numpty.
