Have you tried the frozen parathas you can buy? Tend to be in the traditional Asian corner shops but I think some city based Morrisons sell them too. Very good if you can’t be bothered to make em
No way here. In any case I prefer to make bread, pittas, flatbreads etc from fresh. (You can do that when you have retired). You can freeze them after cooking if you, like I often do, make too many. 2 minutes to reheator a little longer in the Ninja if still frozen is ideal. They cooks so fast they stay moist. Otherwise they get slapped in the Wood oven outside or on a padella on the gas ring. Whilst my chapatis are 50% wholemeal/50% breadflour which I prefer I have made parathas which don't take much longer since it is the kneading that takes the time so just the extra the folding oiling and rolling to add. Since I cant get Ghee here (well unless I buy a 10 litre container from theHalal shop!!) I use oil and a little melted unsalted butter. We have a neighbour who is an American /(should that be neighbor ?) who came round and saw my outside Pizza wood oven I built and then waxed lyrical about her own pizzas and spent 5 minutes slating our local pizzeria/ristorante (which incidentally makes great pizza and is one of the busiest around and always full of locals). They cook all their meats steaks etc. on wood as well. Turns out she buys ready made pizza bases from the supermarket and adds her toppings (Pineapple being one FFS) and puts them in her pizza oven (basically reheating ??!!! She is ex U.S. Military and regularly drive 300 Km to an American Army base to stock up with American 'food' ..sausages, peanut butter, bread (that terrible sweet stuff they sell) and loads of processed stuff I would never eat ?? Suffice to say she has little idea what she is talking about food wise and I suspect her pizzas are not great. (have you ever used Coka Cola as a marinade for spare rib?? Me neither!) You can take the woman out of the U.S. but you can't take the U.S. out of the woman. Mine Pizzas only take 90 seconds to cook from raw so she is basically using her oven to reheat a ready made pizza.
