Our track record finding and developing centre half’s, is better than any other position on the pitch, so losing a decent player for good money isn’t such a worry if it’s a defender, but still it takes us far too long to replace players, so it’s too late to be selling anyone at this stage in my opinion.
If I open my eyes as you put it.. Which clubs / players are you referring to? Lets examine your claim in depth as I feel it has no substance... From the entire championship, only Leeds Utd with 4 permanent signings have brought more in than us so far, one of those players they paid 4.5 million for.. Ipswich and the Blunts have brought in 3 players so far, but for each team one of those has been a loan player.. After that, Barnsley have signed 2 permanent players and also extended the contracts of some of our young youth prospects.. Preston have also signed 2 permanent players... No other championship club has done any extra business, other than either 1 permanent or 1 permanent + 1 Loan. 9 clubs in the championship have brought zero payers in...
Name me a team that has managed to get six players in at the start of the window? Who are these clubs?
Name me a team that needed six players at the start of the window apart from us, we failed in the summer transfer window where as most other clubs didn’t.
Definitely a no from me , we do not want to sell to any other club who are in the relegation scrap with us , if we are looking to move him on , leave it until the summer , besides that , I think he can still do a job for us, after all we did make him captain because of his performances
I suppose fans from all the other clubs involved in the relegation scrap will be saying exactly the same , but its not what we say we need , its Hecky"s opinion what counts , he might feel we only need another couple , who knows , all will be revealed
So your insertion that you'd be able to get six players in at the start of the window, is indeed as ridiculous as I thought it was when I first read it.
No definitely not. Even if we had a full compliment of fit CBs. And certainly not to a relegation rival. It wasn't so long ago he was being touted about as our next big money transfer. He's had a dip in form, but that doesn't mean we should sell him for a cut price, particularly given our predicament.
Obviously a wind up account...7 posts, all about how we are failing in the transfer window.. ps - It's not closed yet.. plus how on earth would we know if another club needed 6 players?? I don't think we did.. 2 more for me ( CM + Striker ) unless we bring in another keeper... Like others have pointed out, most deals are done on deadline day.
No..Hull are our relegation rivals and MacDonald will only make them stronger at the back. He is still a decent centre back
We’re falling behind every transfer window, with our budget I can understand us not get proven quality, but not getting in the number of players you need, when you’ve had 4 months to identify and negotiate is inexcusable, in any other profession if you’d taken nearly 5 months to find and employ the right number staff for the business you work for you’d be looking for another job, and quite right too because you’re not very good at the one you’ve got, and if had happened twice in twelve months you’re down right ***** at your job.
We've identified plenty of players by the sounds of things. But if the clubs don't want to release them until the end of the window, what can we do? What we could do is give up on a first choice targets and get players of inferior quality/worse value for money. But is it really worth us doing this for the sake of getting them in a couple of weeks earlier?
