Collins had a whole new defence and got us to the play offs after coming to EFL management from America. Stendel was in the same. position as Duff, an awful relegation season preceeding him and confidence low. Both had to deal with Conway, at least that won't be an issue this time round. If Duff does come automatics must be the minimum target, be great to actually win a league!
Learn more off here than from him. All he's done there is read a few fans boards for the rumours, stick it behind a paywall. Money for old rope.
I'm not sure? Lost three of our top four scorers, three of the top five in terms of assists, starting goalkeeper and inheriting a defence that makes a sieve look watertight. It's another rebuild. Get some decent players in and we might challenge. I'd be happy with another run at the play offs, I think that's much more realistic.
A big thing for me that brings me confidence with Duff is that all the signings he had a say in last time went on the be great pick ups. I'd be confident he'd be able to help identify some good replacements. More so than other managers available. I know the board do a lot of the recruitment, but over the years some of our managers have clearly had a say with varying degrees of success. Duffs he brought in were a success.
No chance of Automatics next season. Top 6 would be a fantastic result - top 10 would be acceptable. Sadly. Another strong league next year. Brum will be favourites.
How can we have had all those quality players when the boards recruitment policy is woeful? Well according to most.
Is it that woeful though ? I think some people underestimate the fact we reached two playoff campaigns.
