not sure why Cryne is getting all the flak. If the rest of the board want to give his spreadsheet a rest in order to get the manager they think is best then they can decide that with or without his say so.

 

Problem is we have no real football people having these discussions with potential managers. Hard to believe that a club of our standing can fail to appoint after having four preferred candidates. No matter how some on here try to dress it up we obviously don’t have very much appeal these days. It’s a mess….

I've seen nareev at loads of games hone and away. Don't we now have a dof? And your suggesting that cryne picks the team and formation and every manager is just a yes man? So crynes got us in the play offs past 2 seasons... bet he's **** hot at football manager.

 

If this was true, what’s the benefit to keep going down what you believe is a well trodden path to nowhere?
What is the motivation for the club to not appoint a manager early?

This. Either we're making the play offs despite Cryne's interference - in which case Duff and Collins must be almost Pep-like geniuses or Cryne's input has helped us reach the play offs and he actually has some clue about what he's doing.

Or, more likely, Cryne actually doesn't have anywhere near the influence many assume he has and we don't operate that much differently from any number of other clubs and our fortunes ebb and flow just like other clubs.

 

I can completely understand why Stendel wouldn't come, if true. The last board didn't really give him a proper chance in the championship, he might feel if he gets us promotion again he wouldn't be given appropriate time to try and keep us up. We have no idea his financial situation, his family situation or anything. If they get promoted they'll be in the 3rd tier, like we are. 'Reserves' aren't really like the reserves over in England, it's like Barcelona B playing in the championship. Completely different.

I'm just not buying all this that cryne junior is pulling all the strings as far as even picking the team people said same about his dad and it was a load of ********.

I'm far from happy with the farce in appointing a new head coach and losing 4 1st team players for free looks like the beginning of the end of the good times at oakwell to me. But I don't believe cryne picks the teams Collins duff and even devaney must be 3 yes men if this is true and I don't think any are.

 

Maybe we don't have a new Head Coach and haven't got rid of Stead because they're skint in some sort of exit strategy?

 

actually the bit about picking the team did have some truth in it. I can’t remember which coach revealed they had been told to give certain minutes to a certain number of academy players

If I recall it was an aspirational target of X minutes in total for the season.

Jobs and performance weren't used or measured against this particular target.

But as things stand next season we may smash it anyway
