it dunt matter if they were pissed uyp or not, if they are guilty of the alledged crimes then they should be punished. just because they are footballers, does'nt mean they are above the law, nor does it maen we should excuse them.
i hope they are'nt guilty, but if they are, in my opinion they deserve everything they get.

Racially aggravated assault could be something major but it could also be a bit of nothing. It seems to me that every crime against an ethnic minority is judged as racist, which is just ridiculous. If there has been a bit of argy bargy going on and a player has angrily abused the driver over the colour of his skin it doesnt necessarily mean he is a racist. I could get angry with a guy with no hair and call him a bald b@st@rd. Doesnt mean I hate all bald people. It is just picking up on an obvious characteristic and using it. Assault could also be a bit of nothing. Pushing somebody can be classed as an assault. I think the players need our support until something is proved against them.

And if it was your family they beat / mugged / robbed?

By the way, this is purely hypothetical - footballers, like everyone else, are entitled to have their case heard, etcetera...

However, your point if view is a touch worrying. Why should we back, 100%, people found guilty of serious crimes? Forgive, perhaps, after they've served their sentence, but support?

What about people with Black / Asian real family (as opposed to extended) - which side do they pick? What about Pete and Steve - most "colour of skin" racism is quite easily, and often, transferred to "you ain't from around these parts" racism. If they were the victims of a racist attack would you be quite so flippant?

    Lets see

As others have pointed out "assault" is a vague term

if they have been "Kicking the crap" out of a taxi driver then they should finish up in one of her Maj's hotels so will be somewhat disqualified from playing

If the assault was verbal along the lines of " £100 for a 15 minute taxi ride - we arent paying that you robbing black b**tard" the crime is a bit less serious

I would prefer to know the facts a bit more before commenting on whether they should still be playing for our club
