I hope that Lennon starts to bring more than kick and chase to the party.

He didnt complete a pass in the World Cup but was talked up as being a genius , his delivery against Israel was again awful.

He doesnt have to cross much for Spurs as they seem to have "in to feet" strikers so I guess he doesnt have much practice.

You mean that one shot that rolled down his leg.

He was utter **** against Paraguay , ball greedy , kept cutting inside anr running into about 6 defenders.

Was he even on the pitch against Trinidad?

He was no more creative than anyone else we had playing.

    Ballack

Is Lampard the reason why we don't see the best of Ballack either. Is the problem there something like the Stevie G problem

    we have with England.

I'm not saying Lampard is a bad player, just difficult to accomodate when there are better players of a similar ilk.

I recall he did more than that but....

    ...let's agree to disagree.

I don't particularly like him so I'm not gonna argue the tossfor him. My opinion is that he performed better than the other 'creative'players during the WC. But being the worlds tallest midget is nowt to shout about. I still think he's currently (if fit) our best option on the left.

Got to be Gerrard in the middle. Better player than Lampard and you cant move the better player to accommodate the other. So thats Lampard out, but nobody has mentioned Rooney. As talented as he is his performances for England over the last couple of years have been average to poor. He is forever dropping into the midfield space which starves our midfielders of pitch and leaves a gap up front. I was quite impressed with what Nugent did in the time he was on. He should even get a bit of credit for the goal, at least he had the awareness to follow the shot in. Lennon doesnt bring enough to the team. He has great pace but his delivery is awful. I think we are missing Beckham for his quality at dead balls and delivery into the box. Downings not good enough either. Joe Cole has been missed on the left.
