    "there's promising signs".

    Kinell.
    Which game were you at?

    "atmosphere is not condusive".
    "baying mob at home".

You, Gord & Davey blaming the fans.
The same fans who clapped our boys off after a defeat earlier in the season when we were playing like we knew what a football was.

No idea how you can defend that.

    Booing after 3 minutes

Worth the entrance fee to vent your spleen, ah, ok. Cant imagine that atmos transfered itself into the players performances, oh no. Just remember you're defending the same people who booed Chopra for scoring for us. The Barnsley moronic mentality, clapping your team off after getting beaten? I'd prefer not getting beaten.

Are you saying that the very slow LEFT BACK, robbie williams was a better option in central midfield than Kay who has played there dozens of times?
A better option in central midfield than Dale tonge who is a central midfielder?
Better option than nicky wroe who at least is a central midfielder?
Or a better option than Paul Hayes who has spent most of his barnsley career in midfield (even if he was supposed to be playing up front)

Well, Kay played centre half and Tonge came on after 87 minutes having not played for months, probably nowhere near match fit. We couldve put Hayes into centre midfield and played Richards or Knight up front I suppose, but alongside McCann? maybe, maybe not.

RE: Both are better than Wroe

I have to say that Mc Cann doe look like he has potential, but against Ipswich he was crap but scored a good goal. Saw Nicky play at Palace, he did alright as well. Mc Phail I was never keen on him as for Red Helen , who ?

    Wroe

was the only player who seemed to unite fans opinions in that he was universally agreed to be cack. I remember McPhail getting slated for being lazy and always passing sideways or back, prior to him showing his class 2nd half of last season, course he was only playing for a new contract apparently, if Davey tells a player he's playing for a new contract he's a bad man manager.

my opinion, for what its worth, is that McCann will come good, Mattis does seem to look like a poor mans Lee Williamson, but after 2 games I remember Shipperley looked like a right carthorse. Dave Bassett - now there's a manager who could baffle the fans with his team selections!!!

    Just proved my point beautifully.

    Chopra gets booed for scoring.
What does he do? Sticks two fingers up to the crowd, plays better & scores more goals ... end result - the fans loved him.

If you're really saying that the fans having a pop at a team for playing like ***** is the cause of them playing like ***** ... then you're full of *****.

The fans aren't quite as daft as you, Gord & Davey think.
They clap a decent performance regardless of the result.
I walked out of the QPR game, after a 2-0 victory, with my bottom lip nearly touching my toes.

You are the Dwayne Mattis of this BBS.

    Results matter

Football League Championship Sunderland 2-0 Barnsley 21-10-2006
Football League Championship Barnsley 0-1 Coventry 28-10-2006
Football League Championship Derby 2-1 Barnsley 01-11-2006
Football League Championship Barnsley 3-2 Leeds 04-11-2006
Football League Championship Birmingham 2-0 Barnsley 11-11-2006
Football League Championship C Palace 2-0 Barnsley 18-11-2006

Leeds game aside, how many of those did the team get appauded off the pitch?

    Derby.

    Standing ovation after being beaten.

Keep trying to justify your spacky opinion though.
Gord's obviously convinced you he's right.

It's just a shame your integrity was only worth a cup of tea.

    Team v Sheff Wed

Back four of Hassel, Kay, Atkinson, Austin

    Robbie Williams in midfield.

When the teams were read out I thought to myself, Robbie in the side? OK, well fair enough, he's done it to put Kay in midfield.

    i.e.

    Austin, Hassel, Atkinson, Williams

    Kay in midfield.

Which is exactly what any sane individual would have thought. Austin had his worst game for us to add to the comedy in midfield.

    RE: Team v Sheff Wed

that is exactly what i thought he had done and would have been the sensible option. although id have put hecky at left back and kay in middle and sacked robbie williams as soon as possible really, another waster

    i think one problem is

davey wants to keep it tight so even when 2-0 down he seemed reluctant to go forward. i can see the logic in not wanting to lose 5or 6 but surey we could have had more of a go
