...not such a jackass manoeuvre if...

...you get the car converted to LPG or if you don't do high mileage. Everyone is scared of big engines at the moment so you can buy a petrol executive car for a song (sometimes five or six grand less than the equivalent diesel).

Not noticeably from what I've seen (and you can always disable the LPG and force petrol usage). You of course get slightly worse mpg with LPG but you make big savings on the price, which can be as low as 35p per litre if you buy it from a specialist supplier (40-odd pence per litre on the garage forecourts). The government have promised (hmm) that they won't oik up the tax on it for the foreseeable future due to the environmental benefits of using it. It costs about £1600 to get your car converted, depending on what it is. I was about to get mine converted but then my annual mileage dropped right down so it's not worth it.

I wouldn't take my financial advice

    I'm premanently skint.

Just regurgitating stuff I've read, from reputable sources.

I do make exceedingly good cakes though ...

Alliance and leicester shares up 28% today

I know I should have bought a load on my credit card

£5000 on credit card yesterday would have been £1400 profit today

I still think there is money to be made from NR

they halved and are now back up 6%. so even if you think they will go back up to 75% of original value there is scope for profit
