I think its an excellent win . Got hammered 3-2 there in april. On our form and confidence was a gd gd win and give em more confidence for charlton . Can go for it now Charlton's away record isnt great. They get most of their pts at the Valley.
We weren't poor today. The only thing poor was having one exit for around 2,000 to leave by because it means waiting ages to get out of the ground. I did notice most of the houses behind the stand were boarded up thanks to the compulsory purchases in place. A few homes still had people in them, but it can't be long before the dump stand is bulldozed to be modernised.
Ye. ridiculous exit set up. wondered why so many were boarded up. On another note, decent game 60/40 in our favour right result..thought Phillips had a poor day.
Phillips didn't look at fit. Looks like he was rushed back too soon and now he's got a different injury. I didn't get why everyone was being filmed exiting the stand by the one cop with the camcorder. I noticed an heavy police presence on the sea front and back streets. It all seemed OTT.
As well as today, remember a few other times when we've won there at Blackpool, 1-2. I think one was in a season under Keith Hill, and another was when Dave Flitcroft had just got the job. In all three matches, we took the lead, they levelled it, and then we scored again and won. And also amazingly in all three matches, our winning goal was after 90 minutes!. Spooky ehh.
Think it's the acoustics at Blackpool only 9k home fans but sounds alot more when they get behind them like they did after the equaliser.
It’s also because the ground is smaller with closed in corners. Apart from the rare really big games ours is now too big a ground for our fanbase. If it were 18000 capacity spread across four sides with a lower roof it’d make a big difference. Not that I want to move away from Oakwell to an out of town location mind, so we’ve got what we’ve got.
