31 players have been signed by English clubs so far this window. The vast majority being young lads from the Premier League and Championship going to league 1 & 2 clubs on loan. For whatever reason, every season, the majority of business gets done late on, by pretty much every club. It's not exclusive to Barnsley. There's so many working parts involved in making transfers happen. Pines is a tricky one because he's coming from a league which is in its close season, so he's in no real hurry to make a decision. He's allegedly got interest from several clubs, so as someone has mentioned above, there will come a time where we put a deadline on it. That's one example of why transfer business isn't always done straight away. You say that him going back shows he's not committed. Does it? I think the fact that he's travelled half way across the world to hold talks in person shows he's committed. It's a big decision for anyone to commit their immediate future to 1 particular club, let alone one he probably knows nothing about, in a country he's probably never visited before last weekend. There aren't many signings that have been done in our league that makes me think we've missed out on someone, if any. Though we could have acted quickly and brought Conor Wilkinson back before Colchester snaffled him up.
It’s as if some people think passport control would’ve asked him how long his stay was for and he would’ve replied with “depends if they let people stand in the ponty”
