Any player that leaves before his contract is up is breaking his contract, but that's not my main point. Why weren't they replaced with players of similar quality? That's why I believe the board are so poor at running the club. And it's getting worse. I believe Hecky left because of it, Stendel definitely left because of it. I wonder how long Gerhard Struber will last. It's a multiple pile up car crash. In my opinion of course. Let's see what happens in January though.
Hecky left for a pay day at Leeds , Stendel didn’t leave he was sacked for being a weasel . May is when the season finishes although some think it’s already ended
I'm absolutely gutted about the England shirt in The Garrison, the no allegiance thing, the happy to take plaudits comment. I consider myself to be a cynical old tw*t and I think I should have thought of that!! Gutted!!
It was clear from Hecky's interviews towards the end, how he felt about the squad he'd been left to work with. Daniel Stendel's interviews were similar. Of course they looked after themselves when the crunch came, you or I would do the same. For me it's simple. We had a good team in league one, we got promoted, the owners thought they could intentionally weaken the team by cashing in on their talent, but still survive in a higher league. It was incompetent madness, and the fans are starting to vote with their feet. The statement and interview a few days ago were an utter disgrace, they've split the fans down the middle. There were empty seats all around last night, the crowd was at least 2000 less than the official figure. Those that were there, in my vicinity, were vociferous and unanimous in their condemnation of the board. I wish I could think of something more positive to say but I can't. It's a crap situation. I hate to argue with fellow Reds, and I do accept that some people don't agree with me. The strange thing is that the people that don't agree are all on here. I've yet to meet anyone in the ground who supports the board. Last night I spoke to several fans, 3 stewards and an independent camera man. Guess who they all blamed for the situation? I respect your views, but probably better to leave it there now.
You might think they're good enough for L1 now, but just wait until the end of the second best transfer window in the clubs history. Who knows what standard any new recruits will be.
Hardly surprising. Its winter. The game was on Skys red button. Back to back home games against uninspiring southern opponents. Two weeks before Xmas. Just my opinion, but I think there's a bit more to it than fans voting with their feet.
