Not seen a pre-season game so can't comment on performances/fitness etc.

However, on face value the results have been a touch poor, and that 6-0 v Wigan is inexcusable, no matter at what level you're playing.

Davey over the summer has made the forward line one dimensional - we now have no target man as an outlet. The back line is about the same although he hasn't signed a left back as we were led to expect, and in midfield we seem to have gone down the route of untried foreigners which is a massive gamble with our Championshp status. one can only assume that the plan is to wait until DeSilva is back and fit. Because Bobby Hassell is not a Championship level midfielder.

But it's Davey's job on the line, he sees them in training etc and so he must be happy to start the season as we are. On the basis of the new signings and reports from pre-season I'm a tad apprehensive, but let's see.

That probably means that there will be somebody in this week, in football its often the opposite.

I know we'd be scuppered with injuries but is what we've got all that bad?

And, regardless of AR's buyerspeak, we have been trying to sign a striker.

    So there.

Not so sure about the QPR game, but I'd say our fit first XI is VERY strong in my opinion. Like you say, perhaps fecked with injuries, but it's the same for every club. We don't have the luxury of being able to afford 2 championship quality XI's - as much as it'd be nice to! So we have to make sure we have as strong a first team as possible (which I honestly don't think we're too far away from having).

I think we are lacking upfront though and I am a bit worried where the goals will come from if Hume doesn't get going quickly
