Too late for us dek that is for sure. Was talking to an ex polish miner a few days ago and he worked in the mines in the 80s and 90s back I. Po!and and som e of the working practices and equipment were far superior to the methods we were using at the time.unbelievable that a former supposedly inferior mining industry was getting better investment
Its a national asset and the govt at the time are the custodians.but capitalism always finds a way to filter away from the masses.
Well. Who would have thought that? If the unions invest, and lose their brass, whose brass are they losing? They are robbing Peter miner to pay Paul miner. Except that Paul miner is poorer. Or perhaps Peter. So it always has to be an investment with a possible return You can call it interest But it is generally capitalism
U fortunately you have to abide by the rules until you gain a mandate to change them. That's democracy
That the NUM have try and keep the mine open by the current rules of capitalism until such times thst these laws are changed by a democratic mandate.(hopefully privatisation) Not doing very well tonight am I lol
Humility gets you my vote. Not sure about privatisation But don't get Alex Salmond to cry (in search of a democratic mandate) within the next 18 hours or i will vomit colourfully. Dontcha love democracy? How do the Chinese live without it?
Do you really think I want that to happen? I make no bones that I don't like Keith Hill and wish him nothing but footballing ill will.
I worked at Markham Main until it closed under Britsh Coal in 1993, Barnsley seam so high that you would needs stilts to to reach the roof. I think they use to leave quite a bit of roof coal. You are right about the drift plans. I spoke to the director of Soil Mechanics and I think there were several drift options, all designed to access the coal further east towards the coast. You would be going pretty deep by then.
