You have to add the stuff to our work vans. Don’t make the mistake of putting it in the diesel tank. one or two of our lads did. Even though it’s bloody obvious where it goes. It’s not a fuel additive.

No, I'd worked that bit out. The bright blue tank cap was a giveaway. But thanks for the warning.

Yeah granted it’s for 4 vans that do a lot of miles I’d say we get around 150k miles across all 4 out of 300l really on Ford transit LWB suppose it’s not really an issue anyway if your not driving long distance, still cheaper to buy online either way

Fuel contaminations were once a nightmare. Whoever thought of the simple idea of colour coding
the delivery nozzles deserves a medal. No disrespect intended, but some of the operatives on the
Council Highways and Refuse gangs and the suppliers delivery fleets, were not the sharpest knives in the box.

The number of crossover deliveries and incidents of putting the wrong fuel in the wrong tank became quite
alarming. It used to cost an absolute fortune for us to reverse the process and get both the bunded tanks and the
    vehicle tanks cleaned out.

The most alarming incident I ever had to deal with was when a Phillips 66 delivery driver failed to make the
correct connection from his vehicle to the bunded underground Diesel tank in the Depot. The Council depot was in
Calderdale and was located next to a small stream that eventually fed into the River Aire downstream.

I got a call from the night watchman at the Depot as I was having my tea, to tell me that the Environment Agency
were crawling all over the yard. as the fuel company had inadvertently pumped 20,000 litres of Derv into the stream.
I always remember that it took weeks to sort out and the American owned supplier Phillips 66 were eventually fined an absolute fortune.

When Addblue first came out we did have an operative who ruined an engine on a CAT loading shovel when he absent mindedly topped up the diesel tank with Addblue, it's caused us no end of problems in mobile plant that isn't used daily, we have a mobile crusher which regularly won't run because the injectors get furred up with crystalized Addblue.
    Horrible stuff.
