I needed petrol to get to blackpool today, i stupidly thought people werent that stupid that every petrol station i tried on the way to the motorway would be backed up with atleast an half hour queue backed up on to the main road. I was wrong they are. I ended up paying 158.something at the service on the M62. Im a knob i should have panic bought yesterday.
Really annoys me, I fill up once or twice a week for work purposes and its looking increasingly likely I will have to queue up with some folk buying enough to last them over a month or more!
I was wondering how it was the fault of the Remainers and the BBC. Fortunately the daily Heil to the rescue
You wouldn't have thought so, but when they say things like this and nobody in the media challenge them on it, what are people to believe? If anyone from a left of centre party said anything remotely as absurd, they would rightly get a grilling, these lot just get away with it.
We are going to my partner's sister's wedding in Bury st Edmund's on Tuesday, having only a quarter of a tank left after going to London for Anne's birthday theatre trip on Thursday (Tina Turner story, excellent). We've got enough fuel to get us there but probably not to get us home. What a truly screwed up nation we are.
TBF, the driver shortage isn't entirely due to Brexit, except for the thousands of EU-born drivers who went home and the loss of cabotage into the EU meaning British drivers can't do multi-drops so it needs several drivers when one could previously do it. There is also the IR35 tax expansion/change that affected some drivers making it less profitably for them, and the lack of free facilities where they can park safely overnight and get a shower the next day. Given that these shortages were warned about *at least* 5 years ago, it shows an incredible lack of foresight and competence by the government under Cameron, May *and* Johnson as they all failed to do anything about it....
I nipped down to Tesco at Stairfoot. I think the ",No diesel " signs.must have confused folk. Drove straight to a vacant petrol pump and filled up.
