You’ve just reminded me to sign up, thank you. After 5 years being NUT rep at my last school and being a huge believer in Unions, I don’t quite know how I’ve managed to go almost 3 years in my new job without joining one. I’m actually in disbelief at myself.
In the Musicians Union, despite being a bit **** on the guitar these days, they still accept me. Their advice is helpful & some of their courses & I get £10 million PLI & £2k insurance on my DJ gear.
doesn't you're current employment recognise a union? if not, you may be barking up the wrong tree, my union has probably done more crap than good in general but i'd never leave it 1st stop cab or whatever they're called now and acas, though you're employer may tell them both to do one, but you will have a paper trail if a tribunal gets involved as in you trying to rectify the issues, which can't do no harm sock it to em! nobody seems to fight for their rights anymore
