    Not seen a bad gig, unless you count 18 wheeler supporting boo Radleys who were proper rubbish but the boo Radleys were ace so that’s that.

    honorary mention for PJ Harvey who was jaw droppingly good and the wonder stuff who I’ve seen over 100 times. Every one a blast!

    Its one of my biggest musical regrets - not seeing The Who with Moon. Zak Starkey is good, in fact he is very good, but he's not Moon.

    Its small consolation but at least I got to see them with Entwistle.

    I saw them with Kenny Jones at Birmingham NEC around 1988. He's not as good as Starkey in my opinion. The Birmingham gig wasn't as good as the others I've seen.

    I think he worked his arse off on the first tour, but saw him later and he’d settled in.

    I’ve seen them with Zak twice - he’s brilliant, but I can’t get used to Pino.

    Saw Kurt play at Silverdale school in Sheffield in a school uniform! He went to school there for a couple of years . Saw Lambchop play at the Brude a couple years back and they were great as ever, Mr.Met was spellbinding

    My best gig I think was Godspeed You Black Emperor supported by Sight Ros, Leeds Cockpit 2000. They had ten on a tiny stage, two bassists, two drummers, violinists, cellist, 4 guitarists. Utterly transcendent.

    Also Animal Collective and Of Montreal around 2007, just good feelings and massive transporting sound

    You’re right. The problem is that Moon was irreplaceable. I saw Lindisfarne a few times in the 70’s with the original lineup,,,, brilliant! A number of years later, after a couple of members left and 2 had sadly died, although good, Lindisfarne sounded like some blokes doing Lindisfarne songs. Replacing key members can work, AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac for example, but I don’t think it works very often.

    Probably my first Deep Purple concert at Sheffield City Hall 1973 , Ritchie and Gillan in their prime . The only regret was not seeing Free with Paul Kossoff , can’t remember why I didn’t go
    Special mention to the Pink Fairies at the Civic in 1973 , ended in a riot when the electricity was turned off

    Never knew that. One particular Lambchop concert that stands out was when I went to see them at the Grand Opera House in York and a pissed-up Mrs Burgundy Red maintained a rather casual conversation with Kurt from the second row over the first few song breaks. I didn't know whether to be impressed or horrified.
