10 change direction, and you could put down runs... (sixth form common room rules) Another fave of the 6th form, chase the Ace.
. Maybe lockdown may have changed that. My kids like cards but never played Wogga. Favourite game of theirs is cheat ( they call it ********) which is no surprise!
I used to hear the old boys in Carlton Club shouting: 16-2 16-4 Or something similar. Is that Wogga or was that Crib?
Where you get that stat from? Teenagers at school love cards and they’re always asking to borrow sets at break and lunch if they forget their own.
Awesome!! It’s all coming back to me now!! Thanks for your (and everyone else’s) help!! Now to refresh my memory and try and teach the kids how to play!
Dont know if its been mentioned but another name for wogga well at Farm Rd W.M.C where i was brought up was Scarra.
My own experience in schools. Trying to get them to do probability based on cards is impossible. Many have no idea what a pack is made up of.... when they are brought out, they like playing, but many say they’ve never played cards.
Spent many a hour playing Wogga when I worked at Woolley but never played it anywhere else. Cribbage is my personal favourite though
used to play solo on sunday dinnertime in the new lodge hotel, real thinking mans game having to try to rember who threw what and which cards had gone but it was 10mins a game followed by a 20 min inquest as to " if you'd have come that ya wnaker, then i'da got lead and played that, then we could have knocked 'im"
