RE: I never mentioned political parties Fair response. I'm not convinced that's a reflection of how oakwell used the insult but I'll not push that as he's not able to answer for himself at the moment.
What's with the freedom of expressing views all of a sudden? Try your hand at being a columnist in a UK paper, making an objective assessment of Islam and its impact on our society. Better still, try commissioning an illustrator to draw you a cartoon of their big cheese and see if your editor dare print it or whether he doesn't fancy the thought of him and his family been persecuted by 'British' muslims. This is a democracy that permits criticism of the BNP but not of our 'Asian' guests. Democracy my butt.
Everyone is entitled to have their own opinion... whatever that may be... However, its when you use your opinion to create hatred or unrest that it becomes unacceptable. The problem is now that people are afraid to speak out against other races and religions for fear of being branded a racist, which isn't always the case. IMHO
RE: Everyone is entitled to have their own opinion... agreed as long as it doesn't get site admin involved in legal action. I don't like the way that Islam is being perverted by fundamentalists, but I'm equally disturbed by the right wing Christians in the US.
Never read Melanie Phillips or Richard Littlejohn. We do have extensive freedom of the press in this country, probably more than most other places in the world. There are plently of journo's who criticise Islam, whether right or wrong.
