not read all of the link because its mega and dont know if you've been pulled up on this but "Macken rarely wastes the ball"??!! He cant get the fecker under control 90% of the time - its always stuck under his feet .. Loses the ball more than any other player in my opinion.
I haven't read the posts, but..... .... you think he rubbish, know he is rubbish and is woefully inept at this level? And until KO starts scoring at this level then you'll always think he is? Or - you've forgotten the last two years, think scoring against Burton is like scoring against West Brom and when KO doesnt get more than 5 this year he will have changed you opnion and you'll then know he's w*nk?? Surely 1 goal in every 18 games anyone to have a pretty poor opinion of him as a Championship striker?
RE: Excuse me sunshine Sorry Mark I thought it was a generalisation and not just about you, that's the way I meant it anyway. From memory, I don't think you have ever abused KO personally, but you have criticised him on many occasions, sometimes (in my opinion) without justification. And I honestly believe that many of the players read stuff on here, and their confidence may be affected by what they read. KO seems like a confidence player, therefore it may be true that his form (and that of others) could be affected by what they may see on here. I know you have a different opinion, and I know I won't change it, but I simply don't understand what good it does to abuse BFC players on here. I've never known how it is supposed to help and never will.
That's not my point My point is why criticise any player in mid August? The fact that we are already arguing about this sort of stuff at this stage of the season is bizarre in the extreme. I may be wrong about KO, I don't care, but what is there to be gained by continually slagging him off on here? From what I can tell most people think he has had a decent start to the season.
Mate - I wasn't having a go. I wanted to know what you opinion was thats all. Hes played nearly 80 games for Barnsley scoring 5 goals. I just wondered on whether you thought: 1. He's been garbage, I think he's garbage and only KO can change that opinion or 2. I think he's a good player, always have thought he's a good player and KO can only change that opnion by turning rubbish. I didnt read all the posts, but you seemed to be saying one or the other. Personally Im in the number 1 group - and Im happy for him to change my opnion, but I dont think he should be given the chance to.
Fair enough, here's my view When he first came, like all new signings, I gave him a chance to prove himself. I'd never heard of him before (I suspect like most fans). Very soon it became clear that he was never going to be a finisher, but he did have some attributes (pace and strength) that are desirable for a striker. After a while I began to agree that he was not a Championship player, as he missed too many chances and did not put his pace and strength to good use. At the end of last season I had decided that he should probably move on, for his own career reasons as much as anything else. However, he is still here, and still under contract. Ignoring the past (a big ask, I know!) he appears to be doing OK so far this season. And that's my main point - why start ridiculing him now? The fans got behind him at the Man City match, at Hillsborough and at Lincoln. If he somehow comes good, it's like a new signing. And it's not only me on here who thinks like that. New season, new squad, new start, clean slate. What's in the past is in the past. That's my view.
Or Fans of the club unhappy with the fact that we were told that the signing of a striker was the main priority in the summer, goals have been a problem in this division and we've started the season with the worst striker Bansley have had in my living memory as first choice? Or, we have Bogdanovic on the bench who can't get a game yet he's arguably the best goal scorer we have that club.
Well argued, mate After all those texts this summer, you've certainly got me feeling optimistic for the coming season.
Thats fair enough then. My problem is we were told that signing of a goal scorer was the main priority before the season starts yet we've started the season up front with the worst scorer in a pretty bad bunch. Something has to give. Im my opinion we need two strikers who can get in double figures. Hume is potentially one of them. KO isn't. Given the fact we haven't signed this '15 goal a season' striker means we have to re-assess. KO has been given a chance he doesnt deserve and one I dont think he will take - but I hope he does.
P2 W1D1L0 both away ................keep on moaning , it knocks years off your life. 3 goals 2 away games .
I didn't mean to make it sound like that Dan, mate I meant that I thought Stahlrost had put foward his stance with regards to Odejayi in an eloquent manner, not that I felt he'd made a contructive argument against you in particular. My fault, I didn't word my post properly.
