Flicker has no managerial experience so that would be a bad move. Might as well go for Ronnie Branson, who actually deserves a crack. Mark Yates would be another poor choice. Fair enough, he has done a good job at Cheltenham but jumping two leagues may be too much. Would be worse then Keith Hill I'm afraid. Paul Tisdale wouldn't be much better. Going to be a good manager and should stay at Exeter. Took them up two leagues before getting knocked back once. Good League 2 manager but nothing more, similar to Yates. Phil Brown isn't a Championship manager no matter what people say. Proved that with the poor job at Preston. Was backed heavily at Hull, of which nearly sent them into administration. For me, that's the reason why he got them promoted. Phil Parkinson is another no go. Did well at Colchester but later came out that Geraint Williams did all the coaching. That was proved with where they finished when Parkinson left for Hull. Did poorly at Hull and didn't do too great at City last year. Didn't do a marvelous job at Charlton either. Would employ for a cup run and that's probably it. Would love to see Craig Levein manage the club. Wouldn't be a bad shout and be quite realistic to be fair as well. Backs his players all of the time and despite playing boring football, he would get us fighting. Billy Davies is another outstanding favourite, but let's be honest, we couldn't afford him. Nick Barmby, along with Levein is my realistic favourite for the job. Absolute superb job at Hull after a lot to live up to when Nigel Pearson left. Would have him tomorrow if was asked. Was unlucky not to get into play offs and has a good record. Passed us off the park last year. Sean O'Driscoll is another for the job. Brilliant record at Bournemouth, did well at Donny before things got tighter and was doing a fair job at Forest. Never moans about a budget and I believe, either if we go down or stay up, he would take us forward. Gary Megson would be my fourth choice. Was unfairly sacked at Wednesday and has a lot of experience in the Championship. He would be one manager I feel would have a good chance of keeping us up. Steve Cotterill wouldn't be a bad shout. Thoroughly believe that both O'Driscoll and Barmby are better options. Took a long time to turn around the fortunes of Nottingham Forest when they were struggling which may be too late for us. Got a cracking record in the bottom two leagues. Also wouldn't mind Alan Irvine. People don't realise the job he did at Wednesday and is a superb coach. Would hopefully get us playing good football. Got a very good record at Preston as well in the Championship before they started going down hill. A lot of people have been slagging Steve Kean off for the job he did at Blackburn but he definitely deserves a chance at another club. Oakwell may be too much for him as I feel he is probably a League 1 manager. Not saying I wouldn't mind him in South Yorkshire but would be closer to the bottom of my list, rather then the top. Would also love to see Owen Coyle managing at Barnsley but doubt that will happen. Wouldn't be able to afford him and would be in the same list as Billy Davies. He's got the optimism this club and town needs. Some more managers will be added to those odds and looking forward to seeing the BBC gossip column over the next few days
Out of that lot Barmby for me. The others are a little past the sell by date. Barmby has good form and could well mould a decent side out of the players we have; of which only a few should be moved on.
i know its a bit far fetched but i would break the bank and get giggs and scholes down here sack rowing and taylor and you watch how many business men would want to jump on board because with those 2 they could see some ambition and i think uncle alex would lend us a few players too to grt them going.no more lower league managers please lets do what we did when we got allan clarke in and build a superb team where everyone was singing from the same hymn sheet and watch the crowds roll back in.
