The problem is dream boy that if they offer £50k and we say no we want £100k they can easily walk away from the deal and we'll have lost not only thr £50k but also the £25k or so in wages (low guess) that we'll have to pay him till his contract runs out plus pay for someone to train him for 6 months, his training gear, pay for his meals etc. Could end up costing near enough £100k to turn a £50k bid down for a player that is not good enough for our team.
True that's one way to look at it. But them short changing us could be the difference between them getting promoted or not because he's making a difference there. Other clubs will come in for him if he keeps his current form up.
