I just see it as advantage to striker rather than defender. Fine margins but more goals.

Leaving it to the onfield officials works for me. Tbh. Var seems to cause more controversy than pure human error. But I prefer daylight between the players than the present rule. And probably easier for linesmen to make a decision. Providing the buggers keep up with play.
If defenders play deeper. Then forwards can use that to their advantage being closer to goal imo.

Cheaper for the strikers too. They won't have to wear contact lenses.

I think that’s a fair position and one i don’t disagree with. Just silly that some people think this will change anything with regards to calls being because of “trailing shoelaces” or because of a nose hair or whatever else people complain about because it doesn’t change that in the slightest

No, but in tight decisions that go to VAR it's more likely a goal will be given which will eventually lead to fans enjoying the ball going in the net again instead of waiting for it to be ruled out.

You're probably right, but the Offside Trap does not make for great enjoyment of the game.

    It’s simple to sort

Just get rid of VAR and give the power back to refs and Lino’s.

We had talking points before VAR with refs getting decisions wrong.

With VAR we still have the same talking points.

It’s killed the game for me. Yes it might get more decisions right than previously. They just keep adding stupid rules tho along the way to make things more complicated.

The one thing about L1 that I like is that we don’t have VAR.

If a goal gets scored we celebrate as long as there’s no flag or whistle blown.

All we ever needed was goal line technology.

    That’s it!!!

Indeed, best just put all the players on the half way line, then run around like headless chickens when the opposition play the ball over the top....
