I disagree with that. We could have just won the galaxy cup, but if I heard Conway mouthing off about how we're going to sue another club and how we're going to win (How's that going with Hearts BTW Paul?) then I'd be holding my head in my hands in embarrassment.

But on the flip side of that, if we'd lost 10 games in a row then the football league announced that Tuesday is a weekend, meaning season ticket holders have to pay to watch the game, but my club stepped in and gave season ticket holders a free pass, I'd feel proud to support them. (I did, it didn't affect me, I'm not a season ticket holder, it was just a good thing to do.)

I pretty much feel embarrassed every time I hear Paul Conway. But I've lost count of how many times I've been impressed with how Barnsley FC and the staff there have handled the very trying times of this last 12 months or so. Neither have anything to do with results.

I'm very impressed with the manager and the players, that's probably results based. But my scepticism of the owners and my admiration for those that actually run the club is separate. We communicate with fans better than we've ever done before and treat them with more respect than we've ever done before. That has nothing to do with our league position.
