A more likely scenario would be something like the ground having its safety certificate withdrawn, I would have thought
Good luck with BMBC Paul, It took them 15 years of planning to bring the town centre into the 21st century. Say you're moving the club, they'll **** themselves.
Football fans are radicalised into believing that their club is anything other than a business. It's special. All that glory, romance, and history. You're not just a customer, you're part of a narrative, and that should make your heart beat faster. In reality, it's just a business. Blokes at work, who - like any other worker - will leave for another company as soon as they are offered a wage rise. That's it. The only difference between my dealings with the football club, and my dealings with Tesco, are my own feelings. Capitalism is capitalism.
Nez just read some of the stuff they print on Tykes Chat then you will see the hate towards the owners the name-calling is ridiculous one thread they call Conway "Conman Conway" one poster always refers to him as "Cowboy Conway" and one every time he refers to Conway call's him a pill0cker, even Young Nudger as referred to the Conman name-calling telling them to be careful, most on that site don't like our owners even after bringing success to the club.
I would respectfully, but wholeheartedly disagree with you. I think you and others are getting what you want and what is a little muddled. I know that there are some who think a stakeholder can be anyone affected by a companies actions but in real terms that's just not true, a stakeholder is someone that has a say in the running of a company, and we don't. Can we influence the recruitment of players? No. Can we choose which company re-lays the pitch? No. Can we decide how an unexpected windfall is spent? No. Dress it up however you want, we as fans are just that, fans, some are fans without spending a penny, some are fans that spend thousands on tickets and travel, but none have any actual say in the running of the club. I'm not being a dick about it, I'm just stating fact.
I read that thread if it is the same thread that blamed the owners for us failing in the play offs , unbelievable & pathetic comment , how can anyone say that getting us to the play offs was a failure , considering the start we had it was an unbelievable effort .
It's enough keeping up with this site, never mind another. They make mistakes yes, doesn't everyone.... I take anyone at face value. Actions speak louder than words type of thing. They can speak and issue statements left right and centre. Action wise, they haven't done anything to concern me yet.... And they didn't fold in a January transfer window. That speaks more than any statement could ever do.
Think he’s the head of media. https://mobile.twitter.com/andrewclark93?lang=en Nice bloke. He used to help with Mascots and the kids fanzone etc.
I've sunk multiple thousands of pounds into playing golf over the years. It was a central and highly enjoyable part of my life and I loved where it took me. Unfortunately that doesn't result in me owning a golf club. As you say we're all hugely emotionally attached but at the end of the day we're just customers.
It will be fascinating, as a Reds fan, to see how quickly/slowly Christiano Ronaldo's visa is processed.
Surely no Reds fans can have a problem with Ronaldo's visa being processed more quickly than that of the two Reds players! After all "we're al customers" and in a capitalist society you have to accept that some customers are more important than others - that's how it works. If you're not happy with that - become a 'customer' of Man Utd.
It's disgusting. Some on here still don't like our owners despite the fact thatthey’vee been key to our survival and have brought success on the field.
Damned if they do ,damned if they don't. What gets me is the club getting accused of being quiet but when they address the subject they're accused of lying. As for the hate mail,I think its absolutely disgusting and if they find out the perpetrators I would ban them for life.No 21 words just a life ban.
Yeah, get that, I didn’t think you was suggesting a huge outlay from council. TBH, it was just a generic question I was putting out there about Councils spending money like that. We have it over here where the council paid for a hotel to be built and then rented it out to Travellodge on a 30 year lease. There justification being it guarantees extra revenue for them for that period and will make money on the venture eventually too.
