Also if you don’t agree with the broader point that’s fine but it certainly seems to me like something negative will draw everyone out (regardless of whether they’re out for pie) but something positive gets ignored.
Probably because people are put off because of the likes of you who seem to get a hard on at putting other fans down and criticising them because they aren't as good as you?
That’s nonsense and you know it. In no way have I made any suggestion as to what kind of fan I am. I am however criticising “fans” for only engaging with criticising and not acknowledging positives. Also the less you consider whether I have an erection or not the better.
No I’m not. But if you infer from what I’ve said that people who only focus on negatives aren’t really great “fans” then yeah I guess you’re right. But I haven’t said I’m any better than them. I’m sure many of them contribute more to the club financially than me. I’m okay with that. I would hope people would try to be positive but that’s just me.
If you read my posts, I very rarely criticise the club and seldom praise them to the skies either. I sit on the fence so hard that I've got splinters where the sun don't shine. The one exception being this one where I have rightly praised BFC.
Maybe the reason that there aren't hundreds of posts praising it is that it's not exactly brilliant news? The club has been unable to secure a proper sponsor and so have resorted to a series of small local companies putting their name on the shirts each week instead. Presumably for a much lower fee than a proper sponsor would pay as they only get their logo seen for 90 minutes not on all replica kits. It's been dressed up as a great initiative and announced as though it's what the club wants. In reality we know this isn't the case and it's a desperate move brought on by necessity
For me. It’s an innovative way to respond to a difficult situation (Hex) and great that it has a charity element to it. Im sure the club would love to have had another big name sponsor or for the creators (?) of Hex not to be homophobes or whatever they are. But at least they’ve done something innovative and are engaging with local businesses?
It's better than no sponsor all season but having to resort to this isn't a good thing, it just isn't. Somebody or some people at the club have demonstrated that they are not fit to do the job
I just feel like they’re criticised for not securing a sponsor (perhaps fairly, but I like most don’t understand the market) and then when they did, it got hammered (again fine). But they’ve responded to it well in a way that fits the ethos of what we’re apparently trying to do. Which is good. I’m sure if the previous board hadn’t eroded any goodwill then it might’ve been easier to secure a sponsor.
I agree with you to an extent. They haven't announced anything bad, it's a reasonable attempt at making th best of a bad job. I was just trying to put forward why I don't think it's quite the amazing thing that would get loads of praise. I was more impressed by the new music and drink nights they've announced to be honest.
