Oh give over. Kids generally should know how to behave in public. Where are the parents in all this? Kicking off with the stewards when it's finally dawned on them what's actually going on! The club have previous for this and are at serious risk of playing behind closed doors. The statement by the club highlights the seriousness of what went on last night but again a number of "fans" on social media just laughing it off.
Dunno if it's parenting or just how the kids are but they don't behave at games the same as older fans did at their age. You have kids literally begging for freebies like a shirt from a player or stood on the walls at the bottom of stands or stewards not making sure they are sat in their seat when they lean on the front wall during games. Manners have gone out the window compared to what it used to be like.
Bit of a overreaction on here regarding this . Let the club investigate and let them decide on the punishments. If it was up to certain posters on here they would have been hung by now
It doesn't help when Wayne posted on here and Facebook that he "was next to it all, kid that ran on pitch was handled by stewards like he was a hooligan" only to change that to "I'm wrong then, I'm just going on what was said by one of supporters next to me" when told that didn't happen. Spouting ****** and saying you know what happened because you were next to it when in actual fact you're just passing on second hand information from someone else is really dangerous and invites arseholes to act like arseholes.
The kids begging for freebies apart the rest has been happening at games since jesus was in short trousers. You only have to watch reds footage from the 80's to see that and as for comments about kids behaviour today that has been spouted by every generation about the generation under them since time began...............sithi.
I don't go to away matches anymore, as the number of racist idiots make me want to punch them all & I'm not a man of violence. Totally the opposite TBH. I just don't go. Hear some bad stuff occasionally at home games, but it is rare. Most are teenagers but far too many older heads not telling them to shut up. I was sat in the family stand in the East Stand at Oakwell when we beat Leeds 5-2. Was with my brother, his wife & their kids, my nephew & niece, who are now grown up, but were 7 & 9 at the time. This pissed up idiot was making monkey noises at Leeds' black winger. I tapped him on the shoulder & said if he carried on I'd report him. He didn't even show up for the second half. If fans don't call people out there is no hope of stopping these idiots.
I’m talking about the subs and backroom staff who were piling on after every goal. Last time I checked that was a bookable offence.
A bookable offence in a football match is a bit different to a criminal offense. The two aren't really comparable
how do you stand on acceptable public behaviour and the club keep getting fined? You let one one and it escalates, with emotions running high it isn't a great leap to see one confront the ref in the circumstances. Ban them for at least a season
Don’t you think that the whole international squad piling on the pitch to celebrate a goal every time sets a bad example? Kids copy these people from haircut, to choice of boots, to choice of goal celebration.
