I was waiting to get in ground and two stewards were talking about how quiet Barnsleys supporters were and that even the few Forrest Gree Yer do realise Steve Dawson will be frothing at the mouth with this NEW ? information lol.
From the FA/EFL point of view, it's probably both. From my understanding, we are dangerously close to games behind closed doors and points deductions. Something needs to change with fan behaviour at Barnsley. There's a meeting with fan groups in the new year to discuss this and develop an action plan to get the message across. Any suggestions on getting the message across are most welcome.
Well, I'm not sure what happened afterwards. That's a separate issue. But he shouldn't have been on the pitch. Even moreso following recent crowd problems. For the simple act of going on the pitch he and his responsible adult should, purely in my opinion, be banned for the rest of the season.
The fan groups who organise trips to away matches need to impose sanctions on people they are aware of behaving badly.
3 West ham fans pissed up were caught trespassing around the Boelyn Ground and arrested, at Court the Judge asks the Fans what were you doing, Fan 1 replied, i was Blowing Bubbles yer Honour Fan 2 replied i too was Blowing Bubbles yer Honour And i suppose you too were Blowing Bubbles the Judge ask's Fan3, Fan 3 no yer honour i am Bubbles
I know a lot of them don't let known troublemakers travel on their coaches. (Have heard it mentioned at previous meetings).
This is extremely concerning, the reaction to this afternoon's club statement from a number of individuals on social media platforms is just embarrassing. Even the BBC are now reporting on it. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/sport/football/64130055.amp "Fans" not prepared to take responsibility for their actions. As others have said in this thread, when we get another fine, asked to play games behind closed doors or a points deduction then they will be moaning and asking why we're not making any signings.
dunno, I'd have to look at all the evidence. scenario 1: overzealous kid goes running onto the pitch. parent not in sight when it happened, kid absolutely no previous whatsoever. good as gold at every game he's ever been to. a genuine one off and first offence. when dad finds out he's raging, gives him an absolute b0llocking and apologises profusely to the Club scenario 2: dad is stood right next to him and says 'go on son, go for it' obviously neither of those could be the actual case. they're just two very different scenarios. but as an example, I don't personally think scenario 1 warrants a season ban. suspended or a few games perhaps, as a first warning. my point is that as it stands, people just don't know what happened, and surely the punishment should depend on the severity of what's happened? some have even said he should get a life ban, which tbf is ridiculous.
I'm not certain it's a criminal offence at all in Rugby... I think it's just an offence under the Football Offences Act of the early 90's.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/sport/football/64130055.amp League One club Barnsley have launched an investigation after four stewards were injured during a pitch invasion. More garbage reporting from the BBC.
It sounds like trying to play down and thus condone it to me. It's only a little scuffle, boys will be boys, aw shucks
