£1.3mn was our previous record. Surprised we have £1.5mn or £2mn but then again we have managed our budget well, made quite a bit in getting to the play offs and being on telly every match in 2022 at £100,000 a throw plus a decent cup run. Apparently we are also signing Canadian international who has just broken a scoring record.
What??????? I don't understand gibberish. I've read and re-read and I still can't make any sense of your reply, sorry.
Why are you blaming whats gone before? They wouldn't answer anything from before so we the fans shouldn't excuse them on it. They are to blame. We didn't have this when Paul Conway and Chien Lee was in charge in league one.
Ask for your money back, I am sure they will refund & as much as it is disappointing anyone who did not see this coming after relegation are naive to say the least & I have more bad news for you ,others will be sold as well .
Gutted we’ve lost 2 quality championship forwards for fairly nominal amounts given the collapse of the transfer market post covid and our perilous financial situation. For anyone upset at departures… well, pace yourselves. It’s not over yet.
1) we need the money over the course of the year. Yes, instalments might be over a number of years, but we do not know the details. Maybe we had to accept a lower bid in order to get a fair amount now. 2) Sluga wasn’t signed for an undisclosed fee. We cant judge a deal on details we don’t know. We’ll soon know how competitive a team we have, and then at some point next year we’ll know how much we’ve brought in in fees.
First sentence :-Well, if you can't see what happened under Conway and Lee is why we're in the position we are, than you need to give to have a re-assesment of your views.( thats a polite way of saying give your head a shake) Third sentence:- When they took over we had money in the bank so they were in a totally different position to now. As to your second sentence once again I can't make any sense of what you're trying to communicate.
Irrespective of finances, at the moment we have a pitiful forward line up. If attempts are not made to remedy this, it will not be difficult to judge our owners by their actions. It will be in plain sight in every newspaper that publishes the league tables. Every week.
Let’s see what they do with their recruitment. I reckon we will have sold Morris for a higher fee than we paid for him, Woodrow or Moore. So I don’t think the argument that he’ll be more expensive to replace stands. Will judge them at the end of the window. Regardless of who comes in, if we do well, then Duff will be our most valuable asset as he’ll need to get performances out of some players that were awful last season
Even though we all knew this was coming over the last few days, I’m pretty gutted about this now it’s confirmed. His level of performance since joining the club can never be questioned and he’d have bullied opposition in league 1. But I guess it’s not to be and I can only wish him well. Let’s hope we unearth another great striker, preferably a freebie too. We probably need 2 or 3 strikers now right?
As long as the money gets reinvested wisely aka not on Devante Cole and Belgian crocks then fine. Otherwise they've learned nothing and are no better than the idiots they turfed out.
Imho the coup d'état in the boardroom was as specular and dramatic as i have seen. It was bench mark....a line in the sand. The actions of a few...spoke for so many. With it came the words of our new leaders and they spoke well, informed us of their new blue print for club. It was as clear as the nose on your face what an absolute disaster last season was for us. With it was the realisation that finances needed to amended and addressed. Unfortunately that means trying to redress a deficit of £6 million quid. I don't like this ...not one bit but I accept it and this may hurt but I'm over the real pain from last year and now look to our new management team and players for this season. Selling players before we kick a ball is not over by a long chalk....I also accept this will be a season of consolidation...let's hope the new players and coaches can give us somenting to cheer about.
Idea to keep as many as possible. Some players have one year left on the contract (Morris didn’t) and if a bid comes in we have to look at it, we can’t just say we will ignore the financials and keep the entire squad. That being said unless we get ABSURD Money we don’t want to sell.
How do you get to that number? Potentially £2.5m in from Woodrow and Morris. A £1m cash injection from the owners. £750k wages from said strikers. And anything around the £2m mark from relegation clauses. We’ve then invested in the new signings. If Helik and Styles leave then that should see us in a far better and more secure place financially, with the ability to invest back in to the squad to be competitive next season and building again for the years ahead.
