82 disabled spaces is a acceptable offering. If we have more disabled fans than that well "tough S#!t" we can't help everyone.

Does anyone with a bit of common sense actually proof read this stuff

 

The fact they have a waiting list TELLS them they have more disabled supporters than that.

 

Courthouse and Glassworks free all weekend

 

I wonder where they pulled 82 from in the first place considering this is on the official site on the page dedicated to giving clear information to disabled supporters

"The club has 60 parking spaces allocated to its home disabled supporters in the South Stand (Grove Street) car park - postcode S71 1ET. These are allocated on a seasonal basis."


Now I'm no Rachel Riley but I believe that 60 and 82 are different numbers.

 

Only for 3 hours on a Saturday.

 

Dunno about Courthouse but at weekends Glassworks is free for 3 hours then 50p per 30 mins but free again from 5pm to 7am

 

The fact they manage to get Counter Terrorism and Health & Safety in the statement says it all really, sounds like something you would hear from the government, it's just missing the words COVID 19 and lockdown 'for our own safety'.

 

It would certainly make me think that too.
Whatever the logistical and possibly commercial reasons are for the number of spaces allocated, that statement is so poorly worded. It could be used as a example on a training course to detail bad communication skills and damaging PR with customers.

 

I’ve had to get further and further away from the ground, used to park around there but it’s too difficult these days. I now park off park road, I’ll be in Locke park in a couple of years!

 

Hopefully someone makes a hole in the fence again, so we can take the short cut instead of walking all the way round!

 

Would not surprise me if that hole is still there, it was last match of the season. Was done about 3 seasons ago anorl!

 

Wouldn’t let us walk that way, for last few games had security on the entrance.

I got to "Following a review of counter terrorism measures,"....and realised that this could well be management speak bulls**t.
Don't be afraid to say it as it is, but don't talk bollo**s.

 

It changed for the last couple of games of the season. Prior to that it was a 10 minute wait while home fans on foot cleared the carpark area but for the last two games all away fans walked down grove Street and turned left on Pontefract road heading towards beevor court where presumably the coaches were waiting? It caused the carpark to remain locked for an hour.

It's just wrong gally and is such a farcical policy that something needs to be done. Can the trust take it up with the club?

 

I understand if you're disabled or have a disabled passenger why you'd park in the club car park. Other than that I'd never dream of parking at Oakwell or any other club's car park. No matter how well organised you're going to be queuing ages to get out. It always seemed to make sense to me to park a 10 minute walk away and have a quick getaway.

 

When I was young me and my mum used to get the bus back to Darfield. Occasionally the lady sitting at the side of us would give us a lift back as she lived in Great Houghton. We'd sit rooted to the spot for ages in the club car park, and then crawl along Pontefract Road, then crawl up Oaks Lane. Only once we got to Doncaster Road at Stairfoot would the traffic subside, and by the time we reached there, I genuinely believe we could have walked it quicker.

If you have the use of your legs, I'd park away from the ground in a place that, once you get back to your car, you won't be in heavy football traffic. For home games I walk in from Pogmoor (my parents' place), whatever the weather.
