    He did but he funded the academy which he didn't have to. He also put his hand in his own pocket to sign players like Connor, winnall and scowen. He was here 12 year god knows where we would be had chein and conman been here 12 years having a Derby with athersley rec most likely.

    That's not proving anything, he's had to put millions into the club to keep it afloat. Fair play to him but don't try and make out he sold on a self sustaining football club making millions each season.

    What did chein put in? There was a big dispute over the sale and the missing 900k. Thing with Patrick was he was one of us. I never understood why chein and conman got involved. Just looked like leaches.

    What's that got to do with it, were are on about the state of the club in 2017, when it was sold on. You said it was £8m in the black.

    Conway did blow a lot of it. The rest will have gone on sustaining the club for two or three years after they arrived.
    Irrespective of Conway and Lee, god rot em, the Stones money would eventually have run out.
    I sort of want to believe the plan of funding us through development and sales will work but I don't think it actually does. If we want to play at the levels we want to play at it seems to me we'll always need cash input of at least a modest level from our owners.

    Me too. Not particularly worried. Anyone who thinks we'll get treated differently than any other club "because we're Barnsley" is living in whatever is the opposite of Cloud Cuckoo Land. Soil Slothstan?

    No, he doesn't like the football club. My dad went to school with him, he tried to get in during the Dennis era but with no joy so he chalked on it and said he never wants owt to do with BFC.

    I do agree but not in the timescale they spent it in. The best window ever we spunked about 6million on nothing.
