What gets me, wer all at a differant level of thickness, some people highly intelligent on ere and obviously lesser intelligent people that struggle with the text at times, i'm one of the strugglers, I've bin a Barnsley fan nar for nayon 40yrs, and wen my mate Mario, got me started on ere, it was great, i struggle wi stuff always av and always will, but wot i like is that you get slated and you get praised, i would'nt say we were all united, cos one thing i do know and thats wer all differant wi differant views an opinions, and even wi this thread even though its been proven to be a sham from the start, we av had differant views and opinions, some people put me straight, i couldnt interact with these posts i did'nt understand alf of em, but wen i asked do i buy a shirt wi logo on or not i was teld no, i just wanna say keep on posting cos some of us need the Forum, and yer spot on Marc, its been more United than most.

Bit of a daft thing for him to post. We know there are supporters at our club with objectionable views, or who commit objectionable acts.

    They get banned.

People with far more connection to the club than he would ever understand. People who grew up with it, who have probably spent thousands of pounds supporting it. They get told to get ****** off and think about what they have done for a few years, or for life in some cases. It's shameful that we have those fans, but the way we treat them absolutely aligns with the actions we have taken towards him and his following.

Hang on a minute though. How is it wrong to point the finger at Khaled whose role is central to engaging sponsors but ok to blame JAQ? I've seen one or two suggest it on the basis of zero evidence whatsoever.
Personally, given the fashion circles she works in, I'd have thought it highly unlikely she'd be hoodwinked by a bunch such as Hex.
    All guesswork at best.

I'm not blaming JAQ, nor am I blaming Khaled. I'm saying that JAQ seems very business savvy, is based in the US, and it's entirely possible that she was the one that orchestrated the deal and not the endlessly-flogged Khaled. Personally I don't really care. The deal is over. Finito. Dead in the watter. They'll have a meeting about it, lessons will be learned. Football will continue to be played on the pitch. A red shirt will be worn by the reds. And i personally am not looking to apportion blame, just to be absolutely clear :)

I don't get the endless digs at Loko in this.
I certainly don't agree with him at times but throughout all this he's been spot on. He is someone who dabbles in crypto and said so upfront but was cautiously critical from the outset and remained sensibly critical throughout. It's his job to put certain things into context. He did that. I was surprised when I saw his vote stating he had no objections to the deal as it went directly against what he'd been saying on the forum. The fact that he knows that vote would be visible, for me, absolutely backs up the fact it was a mistake.
I gave the BFCST some flak prior to the departure of Conway from the Board because I didn't think they were doing enough. I sort of stand by that but it seems they knew at that point what was coming down the track and didn't want to rock the boat.
On the Hex situation I'd like to say that we as fans and the Trust got this absolutely spot on and everyone deserves a pat on the back. We all stood up for the integrity of the club.

The more I think about this the less inclined I am to give the club much credit here. They were led by the hand by the fans in terminating this deal. This wasn't some slowly evolving situation. All the evidence that made this deal unsavoury and untenable was in the public domain at the time the deal was signed. The fact that the deal was with a company in the crypto field should have made them even more cautious. It didn't. They completely failed to do due diligence and it was left to the fans to do it for them.
If they hadn't I have no doubt our players would be running out at Derby this afternoon with Hex on their shirts.

Same here. Just as others have pointed out that all the options make his position untenable. He was either complicit or was undermined.

You'd wonder why his company were so eager to sponsor us. Obviously didn't do their due diligence either!

It certainly makes their posts make more sense. Maybe they should be a bit more ‘Barnsley’ and less ‘weird cult’.

Correct me if I'm wrong but loads of other people have said the same thing, perhaps not all in this thread but you target my post? Anyway, welcome back Gord. Has tha got over fact Chien Lee isn't a billionaire yet?! :D
Point still stands that there is a lack of accountability in certain areas of BFC as we meander from one **** up to the next.

How is Mario? It's a huge pity he stopped posting on here. I agreed with some of his posts and disagreed with others, but his opinions were always interesting to read. He should come back.

It's all about opinions isn't it. Some believe that all the options means he has to go, others believe he should stay. There is of course an option for him to stay. Opinions eh, they make the world go round :) have a good day DW, it's a scorcher here in Bristol. And we were in London yesterday, 35 degrees!
