So the racists win. I sit in the east lower (centre) and can't remember the last time I heard a racist comment. And I'm pretty sure if any around us did the perpetrators would soon get short shrift.
All of us posting negative experiences in this thread must be lying then - silly us. On a serious note, it may have cleared up over the last few years - but just because you don't hear it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Hence this statement. Edit: I used to sit in the end gangway near the away end - right behind the lino. We had the same cast of characters who were pretty bad for it.
But they aren't facts are they. Because at least five posters in this thread have said your "facts" are wrong
There are kids in the family section shouting racist and homophobic abuse so it's not confined to any one part of the ground. There are concentrations of it though.
So I'm a liar. at what stage did I say they were liars. Once again giving you my experiences noone elses. Spin it how you want. What part of I've dont you understand.
No. As I said earlier, just because you haven't heard it doesn't make it not happen. You might be in a part of the ground where everyone is well behaved and doesn't knuckle drag. But other posters clearly don't and have experienced it. But you're just dismissing people just because of your own personal experience when it clearly happens. It's not a difficult concept to grasp.
I think racism has changed as it's become marginalised. Once upon a time it was half a stand making monkey noises, now it's an individual or small group making banter style comments or using stereotypes. We have a guy near us who, without fail, every match berates Cole for his work rate and ability. Watters gets a free pass as did Norwood and Tedic. Morris also suffered. They "should be good at running at least" is common. The abuse has become more nuanced(?) as it's become less acceptable.
Of course you have. You've dismissed anyone who has heard racism by saying it doesn't happen because you haven't heard it. Read back what you've written. It's there for everyone to see.
Sign of the times. I've noticed racists are popping their heads back out of their Wetherspoons pint glasses again this week, now the Tories are mouthsh!tting about boat people again
It's not my word against theirs as you wish to portray. It's different peoples experiences. And yes I might sit in the right places. Doesn't make any of our posts wrong in the way we have experienced em.
Finally. You're correct, it is different people experiencing different things. Some have experienced racism. You haven't. We got there in the end.
Not once. yet again, have I said they didn't. There never was an end, only to your imagination running wild. The end.
Witnessed all of this watching us away, drug use, racism, sexism and property damage. Sheffield United away I confronted a bloke at side of me coming out with the racist *****, but I can see why some less confrontational people wouldn't. I can also see why people have been put off going away watching us to be around those sort. But I think generally where a decent bunch it's a small minority.
