Good luck to him. Hope he's thick skinned; with some of the comments on social media he's already got us relegated.
But what will £20 get you these days ehh, 3 and a half pints in the pub, with a bit of change left over lol. I think we should play hardball, and demand £50.
underwhelming ...based on his years in Coaching. But, what can you do except wish him the best of luck. I wouldn't think he was first choice but he's taken a chance on joining a recognised dysfunctional club so deserves credit for that. Hope he can get more out of the Board than previous Coaches and he has started very early - so a good long lead in time to rebuild what is a poorly equipped squad at the moment. Good luck Bud.
Speaks well. Hopefully behind the scenes he's supported with what he needs. Not just splurging money, but being efficient to create the squad balance he thinks will allow him and us to succeed. And above all else, there is patience from the fanbase to allow him to create something good with a hint of longevity.
You're on it today Dreamboy! Another great post. Having listened to that, my enthusiasm and excitement is heightened. Of course the proof of the pudding will be in the eating but first impressions: Tough. No nonsense. Front foot football. Togetherness. Not a yes man. Cancelled holidays. Understandable club and our history. If his teams can play as well as he can talk things up, then we're in for a treat. These days it tales a lot to get me excited but this appointment certainly has.
Styles and Benson are also proven at this level. If he can get those two fit and at their best we could have a midfield of Phillips, Connell, Benson, Styles with Cosgrove and Jalo up front and MDG Earl Pines and OKeefe at the back. If that comes off with a few astute signings and loans to follow, we should be well up there.
Can't fault any of that. You'd think I'd have learned my lesson after MLH, but people coming in over the summer and immediately saying exactly the things I want to hear still sends me giddy. Can't help it!
A word to the wise Daryl. Don't mention the long haul, MLH mentioned it once, but I think he got away with it!
Good luck to the guy. Can we all cut him some slack during preseason and particularly during the first month or so of the season if the team have lost 3/4 games? Dont slag him off till at least September!!!
Welcome Darrell!! As Darrell Clarke rhymes with baby shark a chant is easy. Once you hear it you can't unhear it
Great interview - didn't miss a note. First impressions ain't everything, but they are important and I reckon we have a good one here.
You cant move players on that.. a; are under contract and don't want to go.. b; that nobody else wants.
Some right numpties on there. Think one or two thought we should’ve got Klopp. My first impressions are excellent. Like the cut of his jib. Port Vale fans on twitter absolutely worship him.
He'll give the players who need it a right boot up the backside and, if they can't reach the standards he wants, they will find themselves on loan at Pontefract Collieries. He will get them buzzing, or they will be out.
