Let me get this right this magnificent discount is to be able to get my ticket at the same price as last year if I stump up two months earlier ? Marketing disaster in my opinion.

'Straw that broke the camel's back' comes to mind.

Don't understand that reasoning at all. You have the option of 10 months interest free, so you don't have to stump up the money early and there is an option not available last year. Surely more affordable as a result.

    Breakdown of that for me

Kids pricing being £0 and £30 - superb, well done again, should be applauded

    Juvenile/Student pricing - reasonable enough

Standard Adult pricing - severely underwhelming and such a missed opportunity.

We won't sell more season tickets than this season unfortunately, so we'll continue to see a half empty Oakwell with zero atmosphere.

Season tickets bang up to subsidise the much vaunted pay on the day fans.

Yes they have made it easier for him to pay more and harder for him to pay the same as this season.

How is it 10 months interest free when you get charged £35 for it....oh, that's an "admin fee" not interest...makes no difference, it's still a charge for credit.

Over three months early with the offer being from end of April and season not starting until into August. So despite fans staying away in their droves, our ambition changing and our players not being as good, we have to pay up over three months in advance to get our seat at the prices of this season.....So much for special offers for our anniversary season. I'd not call a price freeze special.

Overall ibcrease in season tickets will fund a matchday price cut IMHO.

    Right - sorry.

Next season we should go £20 across the season, for every game.

We could have still being inventive with our season ticket pricing. We're just stuck in such an old fashioned hold as a club it beggars belief.

If you pay an admin fee of £35. Look I'm not expecting miracles, if they'd priced the tickets at say £10 cheaper for an April date the perception would have been that you got a genuine discount not just a reduction in the increase. I still contend that to make a triumphal announcement of this nature is a marketing disaster.

I have to say that it is in the close season I make my renewal decision. To force this upon me right at the end of the season when I'm at my most 'not renewing' level is a problem as if I haven't decided to renew by then, the club will have made my mind up for me.

The fair thing to do would be to offer the price "freeze" to anyone who committs and pays a minimum of £100 before 30th April and the remaing balance before 31st July.

As we have never done an "early bird" offer it is unfair to expect people to change their plans with so little notice.

I cant decide if this is good or bad news

I will have to wait for Hemsworth to make it all clear for me

    Positive spin
No price increase if you pay early

Negative spin - costs you as much as last year and you have to pay 3 whole months early

    seems fairly underwhelming to me

The spreading payments at an effective interest rate of well over 10% is progress but hardly a stunning deal

    It's GREAT news

A price FREEZE is tree-mendous in these times of high inflation, salary increases and interest rates.

    Oh, hang on...

For people complaining that you only have 4 week to save up to get the early bird price - Haven't we all been putting money aside all season for this day?. It's not like it's an un-expected bill. Just one that is likely to go up a little.

For Christs sake - whinge, whinge, moan, moan.

Why don't the Club give us season tickets for free or give those who turn up on the day a tenner. Tell Keith Hill he's got to sell all the metal within the ground as scrap to finance any wages and transfer fees, then sack him before the end of August because when we're not 20 points clear at the top. Maybe people will be happy then?

Under the current circumstances I don't think this payment structure is at all bad - after all, what else hasn't gone up in the last 12 months (apart from the value of my house)?

If you can't afford it, don't come - simple as that; but don't go on ad nauseum about how crap the Club and Board are just for the sake of whinging.

It is unexpected at that time though.

If we have a tail off in form to the end of the season then I think the numbers renewing will also fall. Those folk that would normally have changed their mind by the end of June may be significantly influenced by the additional cost of late renewal.

What else hasn't gone up ? Probably the net disposable income of a significant number of the fan base.
