I’d like to think yesterday’s events will accelerate these conversations, and bring it into absolute laser focus with all stakeholders. The stadium is in a state of decay. I think fans should expect a plan to be shared this year, and ideally before the end of the season.

How many season ticket holders in the East Stsnd?? Wouldn’t it be easier to just put season ticket holders in the North stand without a seat number and then ask folk who have bought tickets to exchange there’s.

    C. 4,000 ticket holders to move. Only 2,500 seats available in the North Stand.

Any changes to ticketing would need SYP approval. As this is the first time in a decade(?) we've put supporters in with away fans, it's likely SYP would want to know where each individual was allocated rather than a free for all. We don't have much goodwill with the police in recent times to call in hat favour if it was indeed deemed easier.

As there's a chance it could be full as well, it's unlikely you'd want people walking around looking for seats together and not getting them - not only have you been moved from your East Stand seat but you're also unable to sit together this match.

Wonder if it’s become damaged due to throwing of tins of sweetcorn and Peppa pigs ?

Of all of the overreactions, this one's my favourite.

Of course other football Stadiums suffer structural damage. Some of them during games, causing them to be abandoned. Oakwell isn't the only building in the country to sustain wind damage, which I presume is the cause of this.

The seats have more than wind damage. Local Pigeons seem to have followed through on mine in recent years.

Do cherry pickers go that high.? From pitch-side to roof.. don't think they do, Would need a craine with stabling legs on each corner for the extra stability to go that high.

    Not sure about that.

I'm certain PC would have bought the whole stadium if he had no choice.

He litterally went 50/50 with the council for reasons well documented.

But to say the council "saved" us from not being at oakwell IMO is well wide of the mark.

Patrick went that route (and the council agreed) purely to separate the playing side from the ground. Patrick didn't have to, he could have kept them seperate and only sold the playing side. And as we all know, the initial agreement was for his share of the ground too. Which would have left the remaining 50 percent with the council exactly for the reasons he outlined before finding a buyer.

I think he did it to save money on costs. If he'd owned the ground he'd have had sole responsibility to renovate it. As it stood he could just say it's the Council's too. Pretty much what's happening today.

Think a recap on the past events is required here.

He didn't do it to save costs. Those costs were and still are to be met by the football club. (Of which he owned too). But not by PC himself or the council

Sounds to me that the high winds we had the other week has loosened a few sheets & has only been noticed through routine inspection.According to some on here the place is dropping to bits & needs bulldozing.

I'd agree with all of that. I for one aren't looking for a comprehensive plan with all the i's dotted and t's crossed but I would like to hear at least something from the Council indicating their commitment.

Just been down to pick mine up. All very calm, people just getting on with it. Bit of Dunkirk spirit around, not much evidence of any bairning going on.

It's bloody cold today. I don't envy anyone going to the game tonight.
