I’m not saying I have any great expectations for next season, I don’t. I’d take top half now if offered. I’m saying the club needs backing now in it’s hour of need. If we’re waiting for a new buyer to suddenly appear with a wad of cash to rid us of our debt it ain’t happening. The current scenario is far from ideal but it’s the best we’re going to see and better than I was expecting at the end of this last disaster of a season. It’s a pity we didn’t appoint a new head coach before the end of the early bird but it is what it is. Suspect we might scrape 7k renewals which is 2k more than I was expecting.
Just listening to it back and whilst it was funny at the time what some said. Why didn't some of the fans LISTEN to what he said. There was one point where a woman said. The VIDEO only shows good bits AFTER he talked about DATA. The video element is only a small % of these programs.
That’s about right. To make that ‘leap of faith’ and renew the ST or not is the question for those of us that were not going to touch the Club while Conway was near it. On the basis of the last few weeks and tonight I think l’ll be doing that. Renewing and crossing my fingers.
People asking questions were saying manager so he will just mirror that I would imagine. At times you do get with Barnsley people that the rest of the world at using Fibreoptic internet and they are still using Dial up with what people say.
My favourite question was the one asking him if he's going to move to the area He said he would be in the area every six weeks or so which isn't bad.
Can I just say that having talked to both Neerav and Andrew Clark at some length this evening I feel the club is heading back in the right direction.. Massive thanks to Neerav for being open and answering each question put to him ...to say he's not the type of guy who does public speaking, he handled the situation marvelously in my opinion. He was open with his answers and although he couldn't come out and say it he agreed we all know where the root of the problem started and finished. Said his first contact when he got involved was via email with Conway and Co...said at the time he was looking into investing in a European club at the time but jumped at the chance to get involved in an English club. He also added at first it was just a chance investment on his part to make money and sell on that said over the 4years he's been here the club has grown on him and he'd like to be here for the for the long run. He also told us that he intends being here every 6weeks but will leave the day to day running of the club to Khaleed Rob and Andy adding Zoom meetings between them all will be on a regular basis.in between vists. any final decisions will be made at boardroom level not just one individual..said restoring a good relationship with the council is needed ( he didn't say it but Conway was a nightmare apparently and drove a big divide between the club and council ) Maybe I was one of those who asked obvious questions..I fall into the old guy category bracket anyway lol personally I don't think anybody could be accussed of asking stupid questions unless you include my question is it buy one get one free time and when Andy said no team in Wakefield , I quipped guess that's one place Conways not tried to buy then...( fell flat.lol) everybody is entitled to their view and opinions...but I guess that's an argument for another thread All in all it was a good night...met Paul ( gally ) sat next to Neil from Tykes Tv fame and to top it off sat next but one to me on the same row were two lads I worked with at the tracky and who i haven't seen in over 40 years Neerav came across has honest and sincere like most Indians there's a gentleness and an air of naivety about his demure he was no different I'd say he's too nice to a fault but seems genuine, Id also add that in my dealings with most Indian people I've ever met they are very polite honest and gentle in nature ... He agreed with me that words alone aren't enough and self recommendation isn't the measure adding we need to be judged on our actions ...its not going to happen over night but given time I will do my very best to take BFC in the right direction.... Do you know something...I for what it's worth think he and his team will Nearly forgot Joe from red all over asked me for an interview lol fame at last lol
Just over 6.000 season tickets sold but that's across all categories...Andy Clark didn't have the actual break down re Adult concessions
I'd made my mind up to renew after the ousting of Conway and have completed the payment side tonight. I think Neerav, Quay and the Crynes deserve backing, they seem sincere and committed and, as we know there are worse possibilities out there! Of course, not everything is solved, many things are still not even fully answered and I have plenty of concerns about Khaled as CEO but the new owner-leaders deserve a chance and some time to get it right. It's not going to be easy, the underlying losses plus the relegation income reduction mean that the finances need major surgery. This will be tough. It may be even tougher on the pitch assembling a squad to survive in a competitive, physically demanding league like League 1 within the financial context. But I'm daft enough to be in again whilst maintaining a hopeful and critical eye.
Good to meet you tonight! I agree. I thought he handled it well even when asked some challenging and at times aggressive questions (which there was no need for imho). He came across sincerely, set out the boards plans, and i think it was very positive. I get the feeling the whole club will be pulling in the same direction now which can only be a good thing. Interesting what he said about JAQ wanting to get involved in improving commercial and community aspects of the club. Looking forward to hearing more from her and the Crynes after next weeks press conference
I spoke with Neerav during the "interlude" because my question was a "technical" one about the £1M new share offer. He said the issue was to existing shareholders. I asked if existing shareholders didn't subscribe could the other shareholders buy their rights - he said "yes". So, if Lee/Conway don't want to put more money into a club of which they have lost control, their control will be diluted even further. Sounds to me like a very smart move by Nareev/ the Crynes.
No he said the opposite. He said be manages his families portfolio in India but the Barnsley investment was a personal one and had become a passion project
Likewise Paul it's good to put faces to names Yes felt the vibe tonight was Very positive indeed I liked the fact He didn't shirk the answer when I asked if we were having a clear out... Said obviously there will be player movement but can't say at this moment how many but things will be clearer in the next couple of weeks said they were taking it on board that the team will need experience heads but those heads come at a price and most clubs out bid us but he accepts its in the clubs interest to have a blend of ages to help the youngsters drawing reference to M Solbauer and how valuable he was to the team .
