I'm pretty sure the ruling is that only U23s or U18s that have already played first team football this season can be considered for selection. It makes sense for the integrity of the competition. Games are getting cancelled up and down the country, its no a conspiracy against us. Be reight.
Nobody ever said you made the rules. People are suggesting that clubs are fiddling those rules. Your response to that was 3 words spread over 2 posts. How probable do you believe it is that forest genuinely have a minimum of 23 players unable to play tomorrow as opposed to them falsely considering players 'injured'?
Disgraceful and has to stop. Play the under 18s if you have to. The EFL should grow a spine. Bristol City started with 7 academy pada today and that's how it should be.
I love matchdays. In six seasons, I've never missed a home game. Plus, it's Barrow who I've never seen us play against, and potentially a win! Gutted. I do feel like I've been hit by a truck though to be fair.
Although Cooper was probably rubbing his hands at the thought of an easy win to get on the right track again for the New Year. Unfair on us though to end up with fixture congestion when we haven't called any games off.
EFL rules also state "any other contracted player not on the squad list but otherwise would have been eligible to play" count towards the 14 man squad. I don't think anyone really thinks it's a conspiracy against Barnsley but it's definitely wrong that some clubs are choosing to delay games at the moment when they could be playing them
On Forest, 27 players have played minutes this season, with another eight unused, but therefore registered. I'm going to assume they're not missing 21 of them through COVID or injury. Maybe every 'keeper is unavailable? Only they and the EFL will know. I don't think there's a conspiracy against BFC. But I do believe that clubs have enough players to select 18.
I don't think it is. If some clubs have more blokes out with Covid then there's nowt anyone can do. You can probably question why players aren't being sensible (Barnes and Maddison at the darts last night), but if they've got Covid then they've got Covid. Nowt you can do really. There's been close to a million cases over the last week or so - it's going to happen. Now you could question why players aren't in Bubble or whatever, but that's another debate that I'm not getting into.
Hope you get over it nice and quick then and start feeling better soon. How long have you worked at the club now? Is that the 6 years you're referring?
It's not just COVID cases though, they're claiming injuries, which adds to the number unavailable. Since when did having injured players see games being cancelled? We had about seven or eight out for two months this season. As for bubbles, our squad is in four separate bubbles. Maybe why we aren't cancelling games.
Sixth year, yeah. I'm still able to do plenty from home, but obviously can't leave the house. Missus is fuming.
I'm glad we're being sensible. And I don't get your other point. Without Covid, then they'd have enough players. But they don't, because of the cases. And with precedents already set, then they're going to get the game off. Take Leeds the other day. They were decimated by injuries against City. They then had a few Covid cases, so the game against Liverpool was off due to Covid and Injuries.
Forest played on Thursday, three days ago. Of a squad of 35, they've somehow lost 21 players in that time? Like I say, must be no goalkeepers. Can't think of another reason.
Perhaps that is the reason then - it makes sense. Reading their forum, they're decimated by injuries at the minute (they had 20 available for that game) - so a Covid outbreak would probably take them under the required number of available players. I honestly don't see the big fuss.
