I'm guessing you're one of these that thought getting Warnock in was a realistic option then? I think it's a good appointment and i'm optimistic about our team with him as the head coach, but just like you i'm basing this on pure guesswork.
No not at all mate. Just can't see any change in results if they're maintaining the same philosophy. Hoping to be proved wrong... The more wrong the better
I hope the new Head Coach keeps us up. However, I can't see it. Just wish him well. If we string a few wins together I might get my season ticket back off my mate and sample a few games. Until then I'll watch soccer Saturday in hope.
It's another Gamble and as a consequence it may come off short term. Good luck to the Guy but the issue for me isn't who the Coach is; it's the 'philosophy' of the Club which is seriously flawed and. judging from the Statement, shows no signs of changing.
Well I wish him the best of luck - I dont share his confidence that we can avoid relegation especially if we are staying with the only kids allowed to be signed approach but hopefully he knows what he is doing and we get a Stendel rather than Morais type of person
really I would have thought 10-1 was more realistic if they want people to actually part with their cash
Good luck Gerhard, the fans don't expect miracles mate....its all about managing your expectations, I used to believe i could date Kelly Brook !!
its not a gamble, its not even a random punt in the dark. hes been employed because he's worked with youth teams and developed young players! its not rocket science.
Yes I can honestly say for the first time in my life I couldn't give 2 hoots who's just filled the vacant head coaches role at Oakwell.... In all my years watching the reds in the dark days of the 4th division I've never ever felt as disconnected.... Or dispondent as I do now. I don't think it's down to age or possible mind set of general life and the struggles we all endure... Rather I'm just sick of reading the platitudes within every story the club release All of which in its old meaning just beggers the question of why.. Why do they persist with such rhetoric... Are we the fools they believe us to be Maybe I'm still angry, that in my opinion they the board set us up to fail with their summer transfer recruitment policy and therefore pulled the rug from under DS feet... I wasn't nor am I impressed still with the way they announced his departure. No matter what has or hasnt taken place (depending on certain rumours) that 21 word statement or the follow up press release from the CEO many days later was crass and below our standing. It didn't reflect well on our community or the work ethics and the plaudits and rewards that hard work bring. Who ever wrote it let alone thought it to be OK to be published should be ashamed of themselves. Yes maybe the subject as been done to death but couple that with the lack of information the stubbornness of the board to stray from a game plan that has major flaws. their reluctance to engage these past weeks all add up.. Unfortunately what they deem success greatly differs from my idea.. Unfortunately our family club is just now a money making machine for these owners... We are now seen as customers who need to be bled dry both financially and emotionally something that they are doing slowly but surely.... Look around Oakwell at all those empty red seats... Every seat no doubt able to understand and tell a story why its not occupied... Until these owners strike a balance between success on the field and financial success off it, by promoting and supporting progression instead of stagnation on it then all I see is that they will strangle what's left of the life blood we have left and those empty seats will double.. I wish the new head coach all the best in his new employment.. unfortunately I can't see anything changing for the better, anytime soon... The players have given us their very best unfortunately the same can't be said for Conway Cryne and Co who in my opinion have failed us all whilst attempting to secure their own financial security Sad in many circumstances that I feel this way about the club.. A club that I've followed the length and breadth of this country.. the majority of the time enjoying riding the roller coaster of hope that supporting Barnsley FC brought That hope as turned into despair and apathy Well done the board of Barnsley football club... Youve managed to crack the foundation of a complicated love affair that started 60 years ago in the short time you've been involved .. Over reaction... Don't think so... Just how I feel.
Chill out a bit. It's only a game. It could be worse, you might have followed Bury Football Club. If you don't want to come and watch Barnsley - then don't. I am not bothered.
