It's not particularly disagreement, it is just the fact that you never post anything positive. This forum is so depressing sometimes.
You do have more confidence in them than most do. You do support Barnsley don't you? It'll be end of October the earliest for a new coach I reckon. Feel free to bump when we announce a new coach by the end of the week...
That certainly appears to be how you/we are now viewed by the current ownership. Customers, not fans. They also seem to have little regard for whether the customers continue to keep shopping with them. Either that, or they seriously misunderstand their customer base.
I can only think that everyone is still too disillusioned with the board and their antics/misinformation/wranglings etc
I just think I didn't take to him that much in general. Nothing against the guy but I thought his appointment in the first place was a bit meh.
Really? I didn't think that. Managing a team playing in the Europa League and we managed to poach him. I was quite impressed at the time. Plus he did manage to turn our season around from one leaking goals to making us quite competitive in the Championship
Fair question Stephen. My answer in parts and in part scraped from the views of others: He wasn't here that long He didnt achieve as much as either one (remember we finished in the bottom three: without Wigan's points deduction, the board would have sacked him at the end of the season) His football had become one dimensional. He was asking out of position Reliant Robin players to play a Porsche 911 system (possibly as per the Board's desires) but didnt seem to have a plan B
I didn't feel the same attachment to him as the other two. The post-match Brentford interview was the exception, but something he was never able to build upon. Once the release clause was made public it was clear that we couldn't prevent it happening anyway, and we've had a prolonged period of actually waiting for it to be confirmed once we knew it was inevitable. Zero shock factor. The underlying reasons behind it are the same as the other two, but this is rapidly becoming the norm for us now. There seems little point in getting too attached to head coaches now, as we can pretty much start the countdown to their departure, as we've done nothing to fix the underlying issues behind them, and seem unlikely to do so with the next one.
What annoys me is that the club say as the release clause was triggered there was nothing they could do. They could have kept him by accommodating his demands or looking at an improved contract. This says they are going to stubbornly stick to what they do now and find a coach that fits their plan. The new coach will have his hands tied so I’m not very optimistic of the future.
