Maybe we’re signing Dane Scarlett as his replacement

 

Can see why people may not want him. Just a name in my head. Started very well at a poor Forest Green side before moving to Cardiff last season. League 1 deffo his level. There’s better names out there though!

 

Nope.

I've nothing. No knee jerk reaction. No defense of the club. No explanation. Just deflation.

I'm sure there's a reason one way or another, but this is just unfathomable at this point in pre-season.

He's by no means one of our best players on field but what he brings is almost irreplaceable when you have a whole transfer window to try and do it.

I can't even...

 

Not quite a 21 word statement, but it's so anodyne that it's pointing towards something having gone on behind the scenes.

The sale is a terrible decision, two days before the season begins. The destination leaves more questions than answers.

What's annoying me the most is the fact that we played him in our final pre-season friendly, presumably in the knowledge that this was going to happen this week. Those minutes could have been used on someone who we'll be relying upon over the next few weeks.

Some of the comments on this thread about the Club are ridiculous. "Shocking, disgusting, unfathomable, appalling etc..."
None of those things are true. If you think they are, where have you been for the last 10 years.

I think this decision is right up there with the most incomprehensible of the past decade, for all sorts of reasons. Maybe second only to signing Mike Pollitt.

Neill Collins today:
It's still Thursday, we've got one more day to go. We're still assessing some people. I don't think we'll be too far away from the squad that we saw on Saturday. I think that's the quickest way to answer that. Andy Dallas has had a week more training under his belt and has looked good. He trained last week because I think he needed the benefit of training, so Andy probably comes into contention. Adam Phillips is obviously suspended. We'd definitely like to have more guys available but we know that they will come through in time. Get the best out of the young guys we've got available and if they can build on what they did last week against Crewe, that will be good."

ON TRANSFER BUSINESS

"Up until that transfer window is shut, that's when it's completed. Up until that point, you're foolish to think you're completed, because we've got a lot of players that I'm sure people will like and we'll always be pushing to try and make sure we have the best squad available. You never know what might happen to the guys in your squad in terms of injuries. That's all behind the scenes. We're all obviously very focused on getting the team prepared that we have available for this weekend and letting other people focus on what we might need to add to that."

Because clearly, there would have been bigger clubs wanting him.

And he wouldn’t have gone to someone like Oldham unless he wanted to.

People need to remember - the players hold all the cards these days.
