To be honest, I'm not sure of all the players still here at the minute that there is anyone I'd class as a decent captain either. We tanked far too often last season and there was little obvious effort of anyone trying to lift the collective.

I'd give the captaincy to Collins if he stays. 100% commitment from Brad whether we are on the up or getting battered. Like you, I don't really see any of the others being captain material. It didn't really work out for Cauley, and Mads is a lovely guy but maybe he's too nice.

I think he will be a big part of our season. Plays for the shirt and has an underrated quality to his game.

He might need armbands if he's thrown in that deep.

Given how young many of our players are likely to be, I'd certainly want someone who has the opportunity to be close to players to cajole them along or have a word. The goalkeeper just seems too far away to be able to do that.

Re centre back. I much prefer centre backs that are taller than him. And if Duff goes with 4 4 2. I think he'd be ok at full back.
If its 3 5 2 . He would be ok as wide midfield. But certainly not back 3. I do like the lad. Btw.
Bit shocked re Halme as I thought he'd fill in Heliks position. If not replaced.

It doesn't always work out but Adam Davies springs to mind. Hopefully we will at least get some experience to work alongside the young lads.

I think it's vital we get experience and character. I wasn't a fan of Davies as captain to be honest and I can't say I've seen any traits in Collins that would give us what we might need. and like you touched on earlier, I'm not especially sure he'll be here anyway,

Personally, I think his best performances have been as a wider centre back, in a back 3. Where he's used his pace to cover the other two. But if we are to play a back 4, I agree that full back is the position for him.

Halme's injury record probably went against him.

    Fair enough mate.

Halme seemed the easiest of decisions. Hardly played, often injured, seldom impressive. Better to start again and likely get someone at much better value.

Very good at getting on the end of set pieces though.

I would never give the captaincy to a goalie personally. The manager should give it to an outfield player who he thinks will organise on the pitch in game time. Woodrow was always trying to get players to pick their game up. But offered little leadership. Mads I also agree with.
Hopefully if we get that old head that Duff wants. He's captain material. But please not a goalie.

King Kong Cundy will be the new captain.

Fair enough mate. My first choice for captaincy is always an experienced centre half, that is the ideal for me. Ideally a tough, no-nonsense centre half. I would have given it to Pinnock in the Stendel season, for his level-headedness and rolls royce-type demeanour. As it stands though, I'd give it to Collins, or build the team around Kane and give it to him.

I'd take a gamble on giving Kane and Aitchison new deals. Can see them heading the same way Mowatt did. We lost a year out of him too.

If he can have a relatively injury free campaign, I believe Jordan will be a big asset for us in Division 1.

If he stays injury free. I'd say we'd have a problem hanging onto him.

I agree. Welcome news is this. With his pace he is a real asset for us. He was bang in firm when he hot injured last season. Think he'll thrive under MDs management.
