Last season it wasn’t even really three for two, they just knocked a third off the price of everything.
Was charged £9 at Crewe game for grandson a portion of fries, 4 pcs chicken and a small bottle of coke. At those prices he won't get near the kiosk again.
Take a photo of what you actually get to see if it in any way resembles the picture above. And I'll guarantee it doesn't !!
Some catering prices are ridiculous. £3 for a bottle of pop? £5 for a Carling? Same price as it was outside Wembley FFS. People should be paid to drink Carling. How much are warm drinks nowadays as I didn't bother looking.
Wahey! Here he is. It was £10 for a burger and chips on Wembley Way. The same people who whinge about low wages being paid at Oakwell are also the ones who want food to be at 1980s prices. There are 3 people per kiosk generally at Oakwell, with a cost to employ of about £18.50 an hour. Add in the cost of electric, food, beer, licensing etc etc I highly doubt they’re massive cash cows, or else the club would be doing more with them. Last season (assume it’s the same this year) a pint of Salthouse Jute was £5.50 a pint in the Ponty End. It’s over £5 for a pint in most pubs on the Arcade or the “new” side of town.
I don't mind the cost because it isn't something I do all the time. I might treat myself to one or two home games a month.
The last time I bought 2 beers across the road at Oracle Park at the baseball, it was $32 (this includes the tip, but remember, USA pints are 16 Oz, not 20 Oz). I don't go to many baseball games, but when I do, I drink before and after, not during. Now, off to Uber to Oakland for a 4-hour Brewfest for just over $40. As it's 23C, and I'll be hitting the single, double and triple IPAs, the ferry ride and walk home should be interesting.
There's no defending the price of soft drinks though. £3 a bottle of pop? That's about a £2.25 gross profit.
That's what I was on about No idea about hot drinks. Better to bring a bottle of pop from a newsagents for like 75 pence.
It's £3 at the general club kiosks? Wow I thought you meant that was at the independent stalls outside. So basically the 'happy hour' is just a reduction back to what the price should be then. £2 for a bottle that costs the club about 75p. In fact if it's the club buying in volume it's probably a lot less than that or should be anyway. Ps. Dear Barnsley. Get some signage up about happy hour. Not everyone reads the website.
Have you been in the super market recently? 250ml Bottles of coke/Fanta etc £1.65 Go to Greggs they’re £1.85. Got a medium milkshake from McDonalds today £2.19. It’s outrageous I agree but it’s standard prices now.
Oh I know, they're all ripping us off. I've just had a look and I can buy cases of 500ml pepsi bottles for 49p per bottle and that's just buying 40 cases from a supplier as an example. I imagine the supermarkets are getting it much cheaper than that direct.
